Full name of student: Dang Thi Thu Mai 2. Gender: Female 3. Date of birth: November 30, 1986 4. Place of birth: Co Noi - Mai Son - Son La 5. Decision to recognize student No. 1883/QD-XHNV-SDH dated October 21, 2010 by the President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi. 6. Changes in the training process: none 7. Thesis topic: Research on sexual attitudes of students exposed to pornographic content on the Internet 8. Major: Psychology. Code: 60 31 80 9. Scientific advisor: Dr. Le Van Hao - Head of Cultural Psychology Department, Institute of Psychology, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences 10. Summary of the results of the thesis: Most students today have more than once known and accessed websites with pornographic content on the Internet. Up to 84.0% of students in the two research areas, Hanoi and Son La, said that they had accidentally accessed websites with pornographic content while searching for study materials or in other situations when they accessed the Internet. Nearly 60% of students purposely searched for and accessed websites with pornographic content when using the Internet. This shows that the level of exposure (whether unintentional or intentional) to pornographic websites among students in the two research areas accounts for a fairly large proportion. The current exposure to the above-mentioned pornographic websites is positively correlated with the sexual attitudes of students today. In other words, the more students are exposed to pornographic content on the Internet, the more lax their attitudes toward sex. Lax attitudes toward sex are expressed in both intended behaviors such as: not emphasizing the issue of preserving women's virginity; accepting premarital sex; expressing consent or liking a free, spontaneous, one-night stand or homosexual relationship. Finally, having premarital sex. Premarital sex behavior among students has differences by gender as well as in the two research areas. Male students have a higher rate of premarital sex than female students. Of the 178 students who responded that they had premarital sex, male students accounted for 86.5% (154 students), female students accounted for 13.5% (24 students). This is partly explained by the cultural and educational factors of each region and each ethnic group. The average age of first sexual intercourse of students in the two research areas is 19.2 years old. There are many factors that influence students' sexual laxity such as: culture, religious beliefs, personal values, influence of family, friends, community... In which, exposure to pornographic websites (accidentally or intentionally) is considered by students to be the most influential factor. That impact is shown in the research results we have obtained. 11. Practical applicability: Help students have a more complete and profound understanding of pornographic websites on the internet. Avoid the negative impacts of those websites on the sexual attitudes of adolescents in general, and students in particular, orienting adolescents to a healthy, positive attitude towards sex. 12. Future research directions The association between exposure to Internet pornography and violence in close relationships (dating/romantic and marital)

1. Full name : DANG THI THU MAI 2. Sex: female 3. Date of birth: November 30, 1986 4. Place of birth: Co noi – Mai son – Son la 5. Admission decision number: 1883/QD-XHNV- SĐH Dated : October 21, 2010 6. Changes in academic process: No 7. Official thesis title: The attitude toward sex among students who are exposed to pornography on the Internet. 8. Major: Psychology 9. Code: 60 31 80 10. Supervisor: Dr. Le Van Hao Head, Department of Cultural psychology, Institute of Psychology, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) 11. Summary of the findings of the thesis: Most students have experienced ponography websites more than once and access to those pages on the internet. About 84.0% of students from the two areas studied in Hanoi and Son La reported that they have accidentally accessed ponography websites in the process of looking for learning materials or in some other internet related situations. Nearly 60% of students have accessed to ponographic websites on purpose. This suggests that the level of exposure (whether in accidental or intentional) to ponographic websites among students interviewed is relatively high. The abovementioned fact of exposure to ponography website is positively correlated to sexual attitude of students. In another word, the more students expose to ponographic websites, the looser attitude toward sex they will have. The loose attitude toward sex is manisfested in some intended behaviors including de-emphasise of women's chastity, acceptance of premarital sex, endorsement of libertinag and homosexuality. Furthermore, they have conducted sexual behavior before marriage. The premarital sexual behaviors among students interviewed varied across genders. Out of 178 students who reported having premarital sexual behaviors, the majority of them (86.5%) are males, the rest (13.5%) are females. It is partly explained by cultural, educational factors in each study areas and Ethiopian. The everage age of the first sexual intercourse among the interviewed sudents is 19.2 years old. There are many factors contributing to the loose attitude toward sex among students including culture, religious beliefs, values, family, friends and community influences etc. Out of which the exposure, whether accidentally or intentionally, to ponographic websites is rated by students as the most dominant factor as evidenced in our study. 12. Practical applicability, if any: The study may help students to raise their awareness of the ponographic websites. It may also help youth in general and students in particular to avoid or cope with the negative impacts of the ponographic websites on their sexual attitudes and behaviors. 13. Further research directions, if any: The correlation between exposure to ponographic materials from the Internet and Intimate partner violence (in dating and marriage).
