Regarding the mode of expression, the thesis emphasizes the structural forms, language, tone, and the system of symbolic imagery used in the epic poem. It can be said that he made great efforts in exploring and innovating his writing style. His epic poems are largely a combination of two structural forms: thematic and stream-of-consciousness. He uses imagery flexibly and creatively, forming a system of symbols within the epic poem. Each symbol carries profound meanings about human life and existence. Combined with a language rich in prose and a multi-voiced style, his epic poems have a unique appearance. They both inherit elements of traditional epic poetry and demonstrate movement and innovation with the colors of postmodern literature.
