Summary of Thesis Results This thesis discusses moral education for children in urban families today, based on a survey conducted in Ha Dong district, Hanoi. Three main findings can be drawn from this study: Firstly, the number of children involved in social vices such as drug abuse, gambling, and especially school violence is increasing. These vices affect not only boys but also girls, causing physical and mental harm. One of the important reasons for this phenomenon is the insufficient attention parents pay to their children's moral education. Secondly, a large number of parents believe that many basic moral values need to be taught to their children. These basic moral values include filial piety, love, politeness, respect, reverence for teachers, and honesty. Regarding methods of educating children in moral values, parents of different professions and educational backgrounds have different approaches. It's noteworthy that many parents place too much trust in the school and completely entrust their children to it. Some parents even believe that their children need to be exposed to society to grow up properly. This is a very mistaken belief, as parents must cooperate with the school to provide effective education, helping children develop well and avoid social vices. Thirdly, the thesis points out that the family still plays a very important role in educating children in moral values. It is important to note that parents need to cooperate closely with schools and social organizations to implement effective measures in moral education for children. 11. Practical application: The research has identified the causes contributing to the decline in morality (especially violence) among junior high school children today, thereby contributing to the formulation of appropriate recommendations and policies for more effective child education. 12. Future research directions: None. 13. Summary of the findings of the thesis: This is a Thesis on moral education for urban children in the families now. The sociological survey was taken place in Ha Dong district, Ha Noi City. We drew out three main points: Firstly, the number of children were involved in social evils such as drugs, gambling, especially school violence is increasing. These evils are not only happening to those boys, but also to the girls, hurting the body and the spirit of the children. One important reason leading to this phenomenon is that the parents are not properly concerned for the moral education for their children. Second, a large proportion of parents say that many basic moral values should be educated for children. These basic moral values are: filial piety, love, the politeness, respect, respect for teachers, virtues of honesty and fairness. Regarding the method of teaching moral values to their children, parents who have different professions and education also have different ways of education. It should be noted that too many parents believe in and surrender their children for school. Some parents also said that their children need to be grown up in social environment. This is a mistake to think because their parents should combine with school in order to find the best education way, so that it can make children go the right way and avoid the social evils. Third, thesis points out that, the family still plays an important role for the education of moral values to their children. It should be noted that their parents, the fathers, mothers need to work closely with schools and social organizations to have good measures in the moral education for children. 12.
