Summary of the thesis results - In Chapter 1 of the thesis, we presented some theoretical issues related to the topic: + Some concepts related to communication: what is communication? what is social communication? + Review of previous research on discourse and different conceptions of discourse. + Presentation of some concepts on: discourse analysis; discourse structure theory; functions of discourse; discourse segmentation method;...etc. + On the other hand, this chapter also briefly introduced resistance songs: concept; characteristics; stages; level of popularity, etc. This theoretical basis will serve as the foundation and research direction for the entire thesis. - In Chapter 2 of the thesis, we surveyed and analyzed the structure of 104 revolutionary songs and drew the following conclusions: + The structure of a song consists of 6 basic parts. Each part plays a crucial role in determining the success of a song. + Songs are all constructed according to the principle of parallelism. This parallelism can be in terms of rhythm, words, phrases, sentences, or even the structure of the verses and lyrics. + In terms of discursive relationships, we see six relationships: proof, concession, cause and effect, enumeration, purpose, and time. + Depending on the content of the song, the song title can be a simple sentence, a phrase, or a word category. + Musicians often use comparisons/metaphors; linking devices; inverted structures; nested structures; auxiliary predicates and adverbs to enhance the realism, vividness, and depth of revolutionary songs. In Chapter 3 of this thesis, we explored the function of the lyrics in revolutionary songs in impacting the social community. These functions include: + Impact through speech acts; + Impact through sub-functions; + The function of impact through the coordination between sound and language; the above units are all selected and arranged by the authors according to their own subtle and unique intentions, making the songs into deeply profound musical works with intense vitality and rich realism. 11. Practical Application The research results of this thesis can contribute to solving many problems regarding the use of the Vietnamese language and serve as a basis for compiling content and determining methods for teaching Vietnamese not only to Vietnamese people but also to foreigners learning Vietnamese. Especially in the current trend of integration and globalization, the research results of this thesis also contribute significantly to improving the functionality of lyrics when musicians compose new musical works with the message they want to send to the audience; thereby facilitating communication and expressing their communicative purposes. 12. Summary of the thesis's results - In Chapter 1, we present some theoretical issues relating to the topic, including: + Mentioning about some concepts relating to media: What is media? What is social media? + Reviewing the research on discourse up to now and different notions of discourse; + Presenting some concepts of discourse analysis, theoretical discourse structure, discourse functions, discourse segmentation method, etc. + On the other hand, this Chapter also introduces Resistance songs about their concept, characteristics, stage, popularity, etc. This theoretical basis is the foundation and research direction of the entire thesis. - In Chapter 2, we proceed to survey, analyze the structure of 104 revolutionary songs, and draw some comments as follows: + The structure of a song includes 6 basic parts. Each section plays an important role in deciding the success of the song; + The songs are composed according to the principle of parallelism. This can be parallel in terms of rhythm, word, speech, statement, or structure of paragraphs and words. + In terms of discourse relations, we find 6 factors, including: demonstration, concession, causality, purpose, time. + Depending on the content of the song, its name can be a single sentence, a term or a word. + Composers often use the method of comparison/ metaphor, the means of linking, reversed structure, integrated structure, auxiliary predicate and adverb, which increases the realism, flexibility and meaning to revolutionary songs. - In Chapter 3, we consider the functional effects on social community of the lyrics in revolutionary songs as below: + Functional effects through action words; + Functional effects through subfunctions; + Functional effects through the combination between music and lyrics; - These units are selected and arranged arranged by composers' own intention, which makes the songs more meaningful with rich vitality and reality. 12. Applicability in reality The research results of the thesis can contribute to solving many problems in using Vietnamese. They are also the bases for compiling the content and determining the teaching methods for Vietnamese people and foreigners. In particular, with the trend of integration and globalization today, the research results can contribute to the improvement of using the functions of lyrics when the composers create a new song implying meaningful messages to the audience, which makes these composers easier to communicate and express their communication purposes. 13.
