Summary of the thesis results: This thesis investigated the perception of filial piety among young people in suburban areas within their families today to see the transformation of this value from traditional to modern families in three main aspects: i) awareness; ii) attitudes and behaviors; and iii) behaviors demonstrating filial piety among young people. The thesis also analyzed the factors affecting the transformation of this value. Through research and investigation, the thesis obtained the following results: Firstly, the study has shown the changes in the perception, attitudes, and behaviors regarding filial piety among young people in suburban areas within their families today. For the surveyed young people, most are aware of the criteria for filial piety in both traditional and modern families. Secondly, the attitudes of young people towards family members today do not differ significantly from those in traditional families. Criteria such as respect, polite behavior, and proper conduct regarding ancestor worship and caring for elderly parents and elders are still preserved and maintained by generations within the family. Children demonstrate responsibility in caring for their elderly parents when the elders are unable to care for themselves. Thirdly, young people with awareness of attitudes and behaviors will exhibit behaviors corresponding to their awareness. In addition, differences in demographic factors such as gender, occupation, age, family size, and number of generations in the family also cause differences in the behaviors expressing filial piety among young people. Households with more than two generations and families with more than four people tend to make more positive choices regarding behaviors expressing filial piety. Fourthly, identify the factors causing changes in the awareness, attitudes, and behaviors of young people. The transformation of the Vietnamese family in various aspects is the inevitable result of the state's reform policies in the political, economic, cultural, and social spheres. Some aspects of family life have changed in a positive direction, contributing to the industrialization, modernization, and economic development of Vietnamese society. On the other hand, some changes will slow down the family's own development towards progress and social relevance. The new family form does not abolish the traditional family, but it makes the old family form, which was the common model and norm in agricultural societies, now just one of many diverse forms of family in industrial societies. This demonstrates the continuous and inevitable nature of family transformation in Vietnamese society today. The transformation of family values today demonstrates the vitality of traditional Vietnamese family values, while also showing the dynamism of Vietnamese generations, especially youth, in adapting to new conditions. However, the adoption of new values by young people also carries many risks if they are not supported with appropriate guidance. Fifth, the topic has also made some recommendations for responsible agencies and organizations in the area. 11. Practical application: The thesis provides additional practical basis to help clarify the scientific basis for young people's understanding of filial piety in the family. At the same time, through this topic, we have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge, theories, and sociological research methods we have learned to practice. The results of this thesis can be used as a reference for teachers and students who want to learn about standard family values, thereby supplementing the research findings of this thesis.

People in the family still reserve and preserve traditional values from generations to generations, they are including: behaving respectfully, ancestor worship and caring parents…etc. Thirdly, youth have awareness of the attitudes and behavior who will also express actions similar to their thinking.
