Summary of the thesis results: In the mid-19th century, China faced the invasion of Western colonialism. To find a way to assert national standing and achieve "national enrichment and military strength," China successively witnessed social reform movements such as: the Yangwu Movement (led by progressive landlords in the Qing dynasty to adopt and learn advanced Western science and technology in 1860); the Wuxu Reform Movement in 1898; the Xinhai Revolution in 1919 (led by Sun Tsongshan to overthrow the Qing dynasty); and the New Culture Movement (which took place in 1919, marked by the May Fourth Movement). It can be said that these movements reflected the aspirations of the Chinese people in the process of transforming their country from a backward feudal era to a modern one. This thesis, based on analysis and synthesis, demonstrates the close relationship between the integration and transformation movements and the modernization process of China in the modern era. It clarifies the process, model, and inevitability of modernization in China, thereby providing a clearer picture of China's successes and failures in the face of historical demands during the initial stages of its modernization. The thesis employs analytical and synthetic methods to study the integration movements of modern China, fully explaining the historical and cultural origins of the achievements brought about by reform and modernization in China today. Finally, by comparing the reform movements of China, Vietnam, and Japan, it identifies similarities and differences in the modernization paths of these three Asian nations. This is also a unique aspect of the thesis. 11. Practical applications: (if any) 12. Future research directions: comparative cultural studies of Vietnam and China.

It can be said that these social transformation movements attempt to transform the country from feudalism to modern capitalism.
