11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

- The thesis surveyed interaction in real-life conversations and in conversational exercises in practical Vietnamese language textbooks to identify conversational structures, linguistic characteristics of conversations, interaction mechanisms, communicative behaviors, communication contexts, and the participants in conversations.

- The thesis analyzed and evaluated the methods of constructing dialogues, the communicative behaviors included in dialogues, as well as the context and communicative roles chosen for constructing dialogues at different levels compared to real-life dialogues.

- The thesis surveyed the extent to which textbook dialogues are applied to real-life communication, the common difficulties encountered by foreign learners when interacting in Vietnamese conversations, and their opinions and suggestions regarding the dialogues in the textbook.

- The thesis proposed solutions for compiling practical Vietnamese language textbooks, particularly the construction of interactive and realistic dialogues, and suggested teaching methods for conversational skills to enhance students' communication abilities.

12. Practical applications:

- Firstly, it can be applied to compiling dialogue textbooks to ensure both the rules and etiquette of conversation are maintained while also being relevant, close to real-life situations, and promoting natural communication in Vietnamese.

- Secondly, it is applied to practical teaching to improve Vietnamese communication skills, meeting the learning needs of foreign learners so that they can communicate in Vietnamese as closely as possible to native speakers.

13. Future research directions:

This research examines issues related to spoken and written language, conversational grammar, modality, modern language, slang, etc., in order to propose appropriate solutions for developing and perfecting conversational textbooks and teaching Vietnamese conversational skills to foreigners.

ButThe thesis examines conversations in the Vietnamese curriculum to identify the structure of the dialogues, the language characteristics of the dialogues, the interaction mechanisms, speech acts, communication contexts, and participants that appear in the conversations.

- The thesis analyzes and evaluates the way the dialogues are constructed, the speech acts which are incorporated into the dialogue, as well as the communicative contexts and participants chosen to design the dialogue at all levels.

- The thesis examines common difficulties of foreign learners when interacting with the Vietnamese people and their ideas and suggestions on conversations in the curriculum.

- The thesis proposes solutions for the compilation of Vietnamese language teaching practice and proposes methods of teaching conversation skills to improve the conversational competence for foreign learners.

- Firstly, it is applied to the design conversations for the Vietnamese course books to both ensure the conversational rules and natural communication.

- Secondly, it is applied to teaching conversational skills to improve the communication skill in Vietnamese for foreign learners.
