 Meaningful scientific activities contribute to strengthening Vietnam - China relations
The international scientific conference “Ho Chi Minh – For a world of peace, friendship and development” organized by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (the focal point is the Faculty of Political Science) in coordination with the Guangxi Academy of Social Sciences (China) is a meaningful academic activity towards the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China.
The workshop received the attention of many scientists from academies, universities, research institutes, and relevant agencies at home and abroad. In particular, the workshop was honored to welcome Professor Hoang Tranh - Former Vice President of the Guangxi Academy of Social Sciences, China and Professor Phung Huu Phu - former Standing Vice President of the Central Theoretical Council, former Standing Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, the first principal of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Chairman of the University's Science and Training Council.
Associate Professor, Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice President of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, emphasized that the legacy that President Ho Chi Minh left behind is enormous and has profound value, and needs to continue to be respected, researched and applied in practice.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh - Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi expressed that President Ho Chi Minh was a genius leader of the Vietnamese revolution, and at the same time a close comrade in arms of many revolutionary leaders of the world in the 20th century, including Chairman Mao Zedong. Throughout his revolutionary life, President Ho Chi Minh, in theory, built a comprehensive and profound system of ideology, and in practice, fought tirelessly not only for the cause of liberation and development of the Vietnamese people, but also for a world of peace, friendship and development.
Associate Professor, Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh emphasized that the legacy that President Ho Chi Minh left behind is enormous and has profound value, and needs to continue to be respected, researched and applied in practice, especially in the context that the great goals of humanity, "peace, friendship and development", are still being seriously challenged by hegemonic ambitions and local wars and conflicts taking place in many places around the world.
The international scientific conference “Ho Chi Minh - for a world of peace, friendship and development” with the participation of prestigious domestic and international scientists aims to contribute to affirming and clarifying the great values ​​in the life, career and ideology of Ho Chi Minh and promote these values ​​in the common efforts for a world of peace, friendship and development; contribute to promoting academic exchanges and good friendship between Vietnam and China for a “Vietnam - China Community of Shared Future of Strategic Significance”.
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Van Chieu - Head of the Faculty of Political Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities presented the opening report of the conference.
In his introductory report, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Chieu - Head of the Faculty of Political Science, University of Social Sciences and Humanities emphasized that the conference became even more special when it took place on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh's arrival in Guangzhou, China (November 11, 1924 - November 11, 2024). This is considered an important historical milestone in his revolutionary life, because in Guangzhou, Ho Chi Minh not only expanded his international vision but also met with revolutionary predecessors, creating an ideological foundation for the national liberation movement in Vietnam. Thanks to this connection, Ho Chi Minh's ideology has continuously spread and inspired many national liberation movements around the world, from Asia to Africa and Latin America.
Profound scientific and practical content affirms the value of Ho Chi Minh's thought.
The workshop was organized with 02 main working sessions, in which it focused on studying Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on people and international solidarity; Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on sustainable development and application in the context of international integration.
More than 90 papers submitted by domestic and foreign scientists and researchers to the conference brought profound scientific and practical values. The papers covered many different aspects such as: Ho Chi Minh - Symbol of the culture of peace; Distinctive features in Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on peace, friendship and global development; Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on peace diplomacy and friendship among nations; Ho Chi Minh - the one who established the strategy of international solidarity and built international relations of the Communist Party of Vietnam; The everlasting value of Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on peace; Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on international solidarity to reconcile some challenges in the field of foreign affairs of Vietnam today; Ho Chi Minh's views on sustainable development and its application by the Communist Party of Vietnam; Ho Chi Minh's philosophy of liberation and the philosophy of liberation of Buddhism - Comparative approach; Religious solidarity according to Ho Chi Minh's thoughts; Applying Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on peace in preventing and resolving current conflicts, etc.
These rich topics not only reflect the deep interest of the academic community but also once again affirm the contemporary value of Ho Chi Minh's thought in solving current global issues. In order for President Ho Chi Minh's thoughts on peace, friendship and development to continue to be presented, the Organizing Committee of the conference hopes that domestic and international scientists, in addition to studying and honoring the ideological values ​​of Ho Chi Minh, will focus on discussing to further clarify the value, application and creative development of his thoughts in the current new period, applying his thoughts to propose practical solutions to the challenges that the world is facing.

Sharing the results of research and evaluation of President Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary activities in China, Professor Hoang Tranh affirmed: "I believe that during Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary activities in China, his achievements in aspects such as theory, journalism, and literature have enriched Ho Chi Minh's ideological treasure, and established his historical position as a "cultural celebrity". Moved to remember and deeply acknowledge the contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, Professor Hoang Tranh emphasized that Ho Chi Minh was a great revolutionary of the proletariat and a cultural celebrity. The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization in its 1987 Conference resolution honored Ho Chi Minh as "Hero of National Liberation and Outstanding Cultural Celebrity".
Professor Phung Huu Phu - former Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council spoke at the conference.
Professor Phung Huu Phu shared his emotions when recalling the achievements in Ho Chi Minh's theoretical system. "President Ho Chi Minh's thought on peace is a profound thought, especially with the building of peace on the foundation of equality and mutual respect." Professor Phung Huu Phu affirmed: "Ho Chi Minh is a fighter for true and genuine peace." The values ​​of Ho Chi Minh's thought for a world of peace, friendship and development are a great thought that has been valuable for nearly a century and will forever be valuable to the Vietnamese people and to humanity.

Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Dinh Phong (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics) in his speech "Ho Chi Minh's Thought on Combining National Strength with the Strength of the Times" emphasized that from the roots of the nation, in seeking the way to save the country and save the people, Ho Chi Minh perceived with profound scientific content the relationship between national strength and the strength of the times. According to him, it is necessary to promote patriotism, solidarity, heroic and indomitable fighting spirit, self-reliance, self-confidence, self-reliance, national pride, solidarity with the people of colonial countries, revolutionary and progressive forces in the world to fight against the common enemy for peace, national independence, democracy and social progress.
In that combination, it is necessary to promote the spirit of self-reliance, helping friends is helping oneself, seeking international support and assistance, making friends with all democratic countries, expanding international friendship and cooperation. Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Dinh Phong affirmed: "In today's turbulent world, Ho Chi Minh's thought on combining national strength with the strength of the times remains intact and is of urgent relevance."

Dr. Vi Le Xuan (Researcher at the Institute of Vietnamese Studies, Guangxi Academy of Social Sciences, China) in his speech entitled “Ho Chi Minh’s international solidarity ideology and its implications for China-Vietnam relations” assessed that Ho Chi Minh was an outstanding ideological guide and practical leader of the Vietnamese revolution. He creatively applied Marxism-Leninism to the practice of the Vietnamese revolution, on the basis of the perception that the Vietnamese revolution was a part of the world revolution, adhered to the principle of internationalism of the world proletariat uniting, opposed the invasion and expansion of imperialism, promoted solidarity and friendship between fraternal parties and countries, as well as the international alliance of all proletarians and oppressed peoples around the world. Ho Chi Minh was steadfast in his internationalist ideology in speaking out in support of the national liberation cause of Asian, African and Latin American countries, enriching and developing Marxism-Leninism-Ho Chi Minh.
Dr. Vi Le Xuan emphasized that Ho Chi Minh's ideology of international solidarity and Xi Jinping's idea of ​​a community of common destiny for mankind are both innovative developments of Marxist-Leninist internationalism. The two parties of Vietnam and China building a community of common destiny has strategic significance, with a common ideological foundation and values ​​based on Marxism, as well as the theory of localizing Marxism formed from the practice of each country. The continuation and deepening of the friendship and close cooperation between the two parties will inevitably bring the ideology of Marxist-Leninist internationalism in the new era to a new historical coordinate.

This is also a vivid demonstration of the tradition and consolidation of the solidarity, cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and China that President Ho Chi Minh has worked hard to build.
