With the attention and support of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors and the functional units of the School, right from the beginning of the term, the Party Committee of the Faculty of International Studies has assigned tasks and established a plan to implement the resolution of the Party Congress for the term 2017-2020 in the work of improving the qualifications and quality of the staff.
Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Pham Quang Minh awarded the certificate of merit for meeting the standards of a clean and strong Party organization of the School Party Committee in 2018 to the Party cell of the Faculty of International Studies.
The Party Cell and the Faculty Board have adopted many forms: making study plans for graduate students and urging them to check their progress regularly; encouraging writing research papers and participating in seminars as a way to improve their professional capacity; encouraging participation in teaching English as a way to maintain foreign language skills, creating conditions for staff to participate in courses inside and outside the school, organizing scientific seminars to improve teaching methods (August 30, 2018), organizing scientific seminars through the Youth Union of staff (March 12, 2019)...

By early 2020, the Faculty had 6 lecturers who had completed their doctoral degrees. Currently, the total number of lecturers with a doctoral degree or higher is 11/16 (accounting for 69%). The Faculty has 02 more PhD students preparing to defend their thesis and all remaining staff are currently doing PhDs.
Regarding the creation of high-quality scientific products and strengthening integration, in 2019, the Faculty of International Studies accepted 01 national-level project with 100% excellent votes, 01 national university-level project with good grades, 02 basic-level projects with good and excellent grades. In 2020, the Faculty still has 01 national university-level project and is preparing to accept 04 basic projects of young lecturers.

In addition, the Faculty published 05 international articles, published 05 monographs, translated 05 documents, published 01 textbook and compiled 02 lectures for research and teaching. The Faculty organized 01 workshop for lecturers and postgraduates. During the school years, the Faculty's lecturers completed the scientific research targets set by the School.
Not only participating in research and teaching activities at the School, the staff of the Faculty of International Studies are also regularly invited to participate in many other scientific activities at home and abroad. Lecturers are invited to teach and evaluate theses, dissertations, and scientific topics at the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Academy of Journalism and Propaganda, Diplomatic Academy, Duy Tan University, Da Nang University, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Ho Chi Minh City)... In addition to accumulating experience from scientific activities, the staff of the Faculty of International Studies have also contributed to building the reputation of the Faculty and the School in the field of international relations research in particular, and the field of social sciences and humanities in general.

Currently, the International Studies Department Party Cell is completing preparations for the Party Cell Congress for the 2020-2022 term in April 2020. The slogan of the Party Cell Congress for the 2020-2022 term is “"Unity, democracy, discipline, dynamism, development",The Party cell of the Faculty of International Studies hopes to do better in Party building and personnel work, contributing to the successful completion of assigned political tasks.
Currently, the Faculty of International Studies is training all 3 levels: undergraduate, master and doctoral students. The number of full-time and double degree students is about 400 students, master's students is about 45 students (2 courses), and doctoral students is about 40 people (4 courses). It is expected that from the 2020-2021 school year, the high-quality training program (according to Circular 23 of the Ministry of Education and Training) of the Faculty will enroll about 30-40 students. |
