The congress passedReport on the 2017-2020 term summary and work direction for the 2020-2022 termAccordingly, during the 2017-2020 term, the History Department Party Cell has achieved many achievements in various aspects of activities: political and ideological work; organizational and personnel work; training and compilation of textbooks/lectures; scientific research; Party building and leadership of mass organizations; leadership of administrative and financial work.

In political and ideological work, the Party Committee and the Faculty Board not only focus on performing tasks for Party members, cadres and civil servants of the Faculty but also pay attention to political and ideological education for students associated with specific activities, integrated into student scientific research activities, extracurricular activities such as internships, practice, culture, and sports.
With the close direction of the Party Committee and the Faculty Board, the work of organizing cadres of the Faculty has achieved many remarkable achievements. The Party Committee has coordinated well with the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the School, the Departments and the Faculty's mass organizations in stabilizing and supplementing personnel, promoting the achievement of academic titles and degrees and implementing training and scientific research tasks of Party members and cadres in the Faculty. The work of directing the implementation of teaching and scientific research tasks for lecturers and administrative tasks for specialists has achieved good results: 100% of lecturers and cadres have achieved the title of advanced workers or higher; 07 permanent cadres are participating in teaching in a foreign language (English); 07 cadres of the Department of Political Theory of the Communist Party of Vietnam participate in the annual training and practical training program for political theory lecturers; Many staff were sent on business trips and participated in scientific conferences abroad such as the Netherlands, Germany, Tanzania, Korea, Japan, China, Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Cambodia, etc.
Comrade Vu Van Quan presented the Summary Report of the 2017-2020 term and the working direction for the 2020-2022 term.
In the 2017-2020 term, the work of compiling textbooks, lectures, and course outlines in the Faculty of History has been focused on promoting: 03 textbooks, 04 lectures have been accepted, 09 contracts for compiling lectures and textbooks have been signed, 27 new courses have been adjusted and compiled have been completed. In 2019, the Faculty completed the task of assessing the quality of the History bachelor's training program according to the AUN - QA training program assessment standards. The Faculty has adjusted the training program and outline of 91 courses with 209 credits. In the last term, the Faculty of History has recruited and trained the Bachelor of Cultural Studies program and the Master of Cultural Management program.
The Faculty of History has always affirmed its position as one of the leading historical training and research centers in the country. The staff of the Faculty have been presiding over and participating in many scientific topics at all levels: State level (18 topics), Hanoi National University level (7), University of Social Sciences and Humanities level (6), topics in cooperation with localities (5), topics sponsored by international funds (4).
In 2018 and 2019 alone, the Faculty's staff published 218 scientific works, including books, book chapters, and reports presented at scientific conferences. In particular, 20 works were published in foreign languages, including some published by prestigious international journals and publishers (with ISI/SCOPUS index).
Many permanent and part-time staff of the Faculty have been awarded individual and collective prizes for their outstanding research works. In 2019, the National Book Award Council awarded 01 A Prize, 01 B Prize and 01 C Prize (out of a total of 27 prizes) to collective authors and authors who are staff of the Faculty of History. Many research works and doctoral theses of staff in the Faculty have won prizes from the Pham Than Duat History Foundation and the Dinh Xuan Lam History Foundation.
In 2018, 2019 and early 2020, the Faculty coordinated to organize 08 Workshops (04 international workshops, 03 national workshops, 01 school-level workshop) and organized 16 scientific seminars with the participation of prestigious domestic and international experts and scientists.
Student scientific research (SRC) has achieved many good results. In the 2017-2018 school year, the report that won the First Prize at the Faculty level continued to win the First Prize at the School level and the Third Prize at the Ministry of Education and Training level. In the 2018-2019 school year, there were 02 reports that won the First Prize and Second Prize at the School level and the Third Prize at the Hanoi National University level. Currently, there are 60 students and student groups registered to participate in SRC for the 2019-2020 school year.
Promoting solidarity, towards international integration
In the 2020-2022 term, the Party Committee and the Board of Directors of the Faculty of History have set out general and specific directions in all aspects of activities. In particular, the Party Committee identified international integration, improving the capacity of teaching international training programs, and international publication as key tasks that need to be thoroughly understood by Party members and staff of the Faculty, creating a breakthrough in activities. Perfecting the organizational structure in departments, focusing on close coordination between the Faculty and the Center for Research and Promotion of Cultural Resources, the Center for Seas and Islands, and the Museum of Anthropology in scientific research, training, and development cooperation.
In the coming years, the Faculty of History will focus on conditions and resources to conduct training in Bachelor of Cultural Studies; prepare to train Bachelor of Urban Studies, PhD in Vietnamese Cultural History; publish many basic and fundamental textbooks; build a set ofHistory Library; continue to promote international cooperation and exchange in teaching and scientific research; carry out well the work of developing new party members; focus on upgrading facilities and finance, especially building and implementing the project to rearrange the Faculty's Information and Documentation Room to meet the learning and research needs of lecturers and students of the Faculty of History in particular and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in general.

The Party Committee of the University appreciates the discipline, seriousness, and practical implementation of all aspects of activities of the Faculty of History.
According to the Party Secretary, in the coming term, the History Department Party Cell needs to focus on a number of core tasks. Regarding the organizational structure, consider a streamlined and streamlined organizational structure to maximize the effectiveness of the teaching staff and students; the key point in the organizational structure is to create conditions for young party members to become good experts. The History Department Party Cell needs to grasp and promote the strength, potential, and advantages of the basic science - Historical Science in difficult and challenging conditions. Regarding training, constantly innovate training methods to create the attractiveness of the History Department, expand and operate well many majors: History, Urban Studies, Cultural Studies.
Comrade Nguyen Van Kim assessed that the Party Cell of the Faculty of History has a high spirit of consensus, this valuable heritage of the Faculty of History needs to continue to be promoted to build a scientific collective with continuity between generations. With the potential, position, and vision of the Faculty of History, Party Secretary Nguyen Van Kim believes that the Party Cell of the Faculty of History will excellently complete the tasks set out in the 2020-2022 term.
The Congress elected the Party Cell Executive Committee for the 2020-2022 term, consisting of 5 comrades: Comrade Vu Van Quan, Comrade Tran Thien Thanh, Comrade Do Thi Huong Thao, Comrade Pham Van Thuy, and Comrade Do Thi Thanh Loan. Of which, Comrade Vu Van Quan holds the position of Party Cell Secretary, Comrade Tran Thien Thanh is Deputy Party Cell Secretary.
