Principal Hoang Anh Tuan chaired the school's monthly meeting in December 2023.
Mr. Nguyen Van Thuy (Head of the Administrative and General Affairs Department) presented a report on the results of work in November, emphasizing that: basically, all areas were completed according to the set plan. The school, as well as all training units, organized a series of warm, solemn, and meaningful activities to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers' Day. At the same time, many activities were successfully organized to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Government's issuance of the Decree on Vietnam National University, Hanoi, notably the school's Vietnamese Oratory Team won First Prize nationwide. The report also outlined several key tasks to be completed in December: organizing the conference to summarize the 2023 university admissions work and developing a plan for admissions counseling for 2024; organizing the graduation ceremony for master's and doctoral students at the end of 2023; and basically completing the repair work on some infrastructure items.
Dr. Pham Huy Cuong (Director of the Center for Quality Assurance in Education) provided information on the quality accreditation plan for December: On December 21st, the University will welcome the preliminary survey team for 3 training programs to be evaluated according to AUN-QA standards. From now until then, units with programs being evaluated need to revise their self-assessment reports based on the council's feedback. Data on feedback from stakeholders (alumni, employers) is a mandatory standard and condition in quality assurance, so we hope that the leaders of the units will pay attention and complete it soon.
Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong, Vice Rector, noted several key tasks in training that need to be completed in December: Joint training programs are strictly regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training, with a maximum of up to 25% of credits in the training program (approximately one academic year). Therefore, specific guidelines for credit recognition need to be issued to ensure students' rights when participating in overseas study exchanges or lectures by visiting professors at the university. In December, focus should be placed on completing the 2024 enrollment plan and organizing the History and Literature Olympiad for high school students safely and successfully. Communication efforts regarding enrollment should be strengthened, as well as disseminating new university policies to a wider audience (regulations on pre-taking courses, credit conversion, scholarships, etc.).
Vice Rector Dao Thanh Truong requested that heads of units strengthen communication regarding science and technology: new policies of VNU and the University; achievements in scientific research (staff and students), and focus on successfully organizing the 2024 student scientific conference in a way that both attracts a large number of students to participate and identifies and invests appropriately in high-quality research.
Vice Rector Lai Quoc Khanh shared the results of the facility renovation work: the renovation of buildings D, E, etc., has been completed. The renovation project for the facade of building A began at the end of November and is planned to be completed before the Lunar New Year. He hopes that faculty and staff will cooperate to ensure the work proceeds on schedule.
After hearing the report on the work implementation in October 2023, the exchange and discussion of opinions from the units and functional departments, and the opinions of the Vice Principals, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan concluded:
