Previously, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, in collaboration with Meta Group, successfully organized the first AI training course in Vietnam, completely free of charge for lecturers and students.
There were 3 training courses for lecturers from VNU-USSH and 1 course for lecturers from other universities within the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Nearly 180 lecturers completed the course with excellent results and were able to immediately apply the knowledge and skills gained from the course to their work, creating breakthroughs in teaching and research.
In addition, VNU-USSH also organized 15 classes for students, with nearly 600 students from the first to fourth years across all majors of the University registering to participate. By the end of January 2024, 6 classes had successfully concluded, yielding unexpected results and positive feedback from students. All participants who completed the courses received certificates from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Meta Group.
Revolving around the theme of the AI world and its applications in work and life, each course is designed and supplemented with diverse, timely, and relevant content by experts from VNU-USSH and Meta Group, meeting the needs of real-world work. For lecturers, the course focuses on equipping them with fundamental knowledge to keep up with technological trends, expand their creativity and innovation in teaching, building digital lectures, managing classes, conducting research, and publishing internationally. Accompanying Gen Z students with the motto of helping them "Learn quickly, Understand deeply, Create to make a difference," the experts delve into strategic analysis to help students apply AI to optimize their learning process, improve results, enhance critical thinking and research capabilities; and build professional CVs, portfolios, and personal websites. Use GenAI to create innovative videos and optimize supporting tools for each field; search for job information and create impressive CVs to impress recruiters; and understand and apply it responsibly and ethically.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Rector of the University) highly appreciated the enthusiastic, serious, and effective learning spirit of the trainees; and expressed his hope that the knowledge and skills acquired would be applied most effectively by the teachers and students to improve the quality of their work and contribute to the overall development of the University.
Principal Hoang Anh Tuan delivered a speech at the closing ceremony and presented certificates to the students who completed the course.
Along with training courses for lecturers and students, the GEN AI course for administrative staff is one of the important steps demonstrating VNU-USSH's determination to build a professional, modern, and efficient administrative and management system, showcasing its pioneering role in digital transformation and the application of information technology to the training and research activities of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Do Van Hung (Head of the Information and Library Science Department, Co-leader of the Project to Enhance the Application of GEN AI for Lecturers and Students), in the near future, with the support from the University's Board of Directors and the collaboration of Meta Group, the team of experts will conduct research to continue implementing several in-depth training courses on the application of GEN in specific fields: quality assurance, student management and care, scientific research management, digital communication, etc.
