VNU-USSH and Meta organize a Gen AI course for high school students.

Within the framework of the Project to enhance the capacity of artificial intelligence (Gen AI) for lecturers and students, implemented by Meta Group in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Gen AI course for students of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities was successfully held from March 8th to 10th, 2025.

The course received close attention from the School Board of Directors and attracted registration from a large number of students from grades 10, 11, and 12 of the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

With its rich, relevant, and up-to-date content, the course has equipped high school students with foundational knowledge about AI genes, helping them to access advanced technological achievements early on, thereby optimizing their learning and personal development.
During 5 sessions of study, exchange and lively discussion, through many practical exercises, students have better understood the strengths and weaknesses of GEN AI tools and how to apply them to learning, contributing to improving creative thinking and problem-solving skills; proactively using AI ethically and responsibly, considering AI as a supporting tool to support and be more creative, not being overly dependent on AI, and at the same time having career orientations in the digital age.
At the end of the course, many students expressed their excitement and wished the school would have more useful programs like this in the future.
Nguyen Bao Gia Linh (a student in class 11 Literature 1) shared her joy at being one of the first students to participate in a comprehensive and in-depth training course on GEN AI, certified by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Meta Group. “During the course, we not only gained access to a wealth of updated and useful knowledge about the world of GEN AI, raising our awareness of responsible and ethical AI use, but also had the opportunity to practice directly. This allowed us to immediately apply the tools to searching for learning materials and creating digital content (videos, presentations, photo editing, music composition). More importantly, the teachers inspired us to continuously learn, explore, and apply new technological advancements to serve our work and lives in the future.”

Congratulating the students of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities for completing the course very seriously and with high results, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Van Hung - Head of the Information and Library Science Department, Co-leader of the GEN AI Capacity Building Project, emphasized: “This is a ‘special’ course designed specifically for students of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities with the desire to equip them with the most fundamental knowledge about GEN AI, helping them to use GEN AI responsibly in their studies and lives. GEN AI is becoming increasingly prevalent and involved in all aspects of social life, so early access to and knowing how to use it intelligently and creatively will give students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities a great advantage when participating in the rapidly changing labor market in the digital age.”

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu - Principal of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities, on behalf of teachers and students, thanked the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Project Management Board for creating conditions to organize the Gen AI course for the school's students. At the same time, he affirmed that the Board of Directors of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities advocates developing comprehensive capacity for students to help them be ready to adapt in the context of AI having a profound impact on all aspects of social life.

With a commitment to supporting learners in updating technological achievements and meeting new requirements in education and training, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is always at the forefront of organizing training courses on information literacy, digital literacy, and AI skills for its students.
Within the framework of this Project, from the end of 2024 to March 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities collaborated with Meta Group to successfully organize 5 training courses on AI Genes with over 250 lecturers and experts participating, and 15 courses for students and pupils attracting nearly 800 learners. All participants who completed the courses received certificates from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Meta Group. In the next phase, the University will publish the AI ​​Gene competency framework for learners and implement online AI Gene courses for students inside and outside Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
