VNU-USSH and Meta organize Gen AI course for high school students

Within the framework of the project to enhance the capacity of artificial intelligence (Gen AI) for lecturers and students, implemented by Meta Group in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), from March 8 to 10, 2025, the Gen AI course for students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities was successfully organized.

The course received close attention from the School Board of Directors and attracted registration from a large number of students from grades 10, 11, and 12 of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

With rich, familiar, and updated content, the course has equipped high school students with basic knowledge about Gen AI, helping them to have early access to advanced technological achievements, thereby optimizing their learning and self-development.
During 5 sessions of study, exchange and lively discussion, through many practical exercises, students have better understood the strengths and weaknesses of GEN AI tools and how to apply them to learning, contributing to improving creative thinking and problem-solving skills; proactively using AI ethically and responsibly, considering AI as a supporting tool to support and be more creative, not being overly dependent on AI, and at the same time having career orientations in the digital age.
At the end of the course, many students expressed their excitement and wished the school would have more such useful programs in the future.
Nguyen Bao Gia Linh (11th grade Literature 1 student) shared her joy at being one of the first students to participate in a systematic and in-depth training course on GEN AI, certified by the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Meta Group. “During the course, we not only had access to a lot of updated and useful knowledge about the world of GEN AI, raising awareness about the responsible and ethical use of AI, but also had direct practice, helping us to immediately apply the tools to search for learning materials and create digital content (videos, presentations, photo editing, music writing). More importantly, we were inspired by our teachers to continuously learn to explore and apply new technological achievements to serve our future work and life.”

Congratulating the students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities for completing the course seriously and with high results, Associate Professor, Dr. Do Van Hung - Head of the Faculty of Information and Library, Co-Director of the GEN AI Capacity Building Project, emphasized: “This is a “special” class designed specifically for students of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities with the desire to equip them with the most basic knowledge about GEN AI, helping them know how to use GEN AI responsibly in their studies and lives. GEN AI is becoming more and more popular and participating in all aspects of social life, so early access and knowing how to use it intelligently and creatively will help students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities create a great advantage when participating in the rapidly changing labor market in the digital age”.

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Quang Lieu - Principal of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities, on behalf of teachers and students, thanked the Board of Directors of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Project Management Board for creating conditions to organize the Gen AI course for the school's students. At the same time, he affirmed that the Board of Directors of the High School for the Gifted in Social Sciences and Humanities advocates developing comprehensive capacity for students to help them be ready to adapt in the context of AI having a profound impact on all aspects of social life.

With a commitment to accompany learners in updating technological achievements, meeting new requirements in education and training, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is always a pioneer in organizing training courses on information capacity, digital capacity, and AI capacity for students of the University.
Within the framework of this Project, from the end of 2024 to March 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has coordinated with Meta Group to successfully organize 5 training courses on Gen AI with more than 250 lecturers and experts participating, and 15 courses for students and pupils attracting nearly 800 learners. All learners who participated and completed the courses received certificates from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Meta Group. In the next phase, the University will announce the Gen AI competency framework for learners and deploy online courses on Gen AI for students inside and outside VNU.
