VNU-USSH Alumni Network: Love and precious companionship with the School of Humanities

A new spring has come to Hanoi Humanities with the warm and brilliant Tet atmosphere, with the bright pink peach blossoms on the porch, and also with the tight handshakes and full emotions of the alumni on the day of their reunion at the school.
The alumni meeting on the occasion of the New Year of the Snake 2025 on January 15, 2025 was attended by representatives of the Board of Directors, leaders of faculties/institutes/departments, functional departments and nearly 40 alumni of the school. Welcoming the return of the alumni, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Party Secretary, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities shared his joy because the former Humanities students have now spread their wings all over the world, with many contributions and successes in many fields.

Over the past decades, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) has made great strides. In that change, the school has always maintained its traditional features but has not been out of tune with the general trend of modern society. Principal Hoang Anh Tuan informed that the school currently has 93 training programs from bachelor to master and doctorate, including 28 undergraduate training majors. Basically, whatever major the world has in the field of social sciences and humanities, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has that major, especially the "special" majors that are unique to VNU-USSH. The school's training majors develop in an interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary direction to meet the needs of society and the current trend of internationalization. Today's students of Humanities are dynamic, creative, and successful in many career fields. The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is not left behind in the vortex of innovation in higher education in Vietnam and around the world.
In addition to teachers and staff of the school, alumni have made many important contributions to the development of VNU-USSH, participating in training, research and development cooperation of the school. Many alumni have become close partners, many alumni stay as staff and lecturers, contributing every day to the achievements of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Principal Hoang Anh Tuan shared that VNU-USSH expressed his wish that the connection between the school and the alumni network will be long and tight, together cooperating, developing and succeeding, especially in the series of special events towards the 80th anniversary of the tradition from the University of Literature to the 30th anniversary of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.
Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong - Vice Principal, former student of K36 of the University of General Sciences expressed the pride of students and alumni of Humanities. It is the pride of studying at the top university in the country in training and researching social sciences and humanities; the pride of studying and being guided by "big trees" in various fields; the pride of the dynamic and creative alumni network, holding important positions in state agencies, organizations and enterprises. Generations of students and alumni of the school always accompany generations of students, bringing many job opportunities, internships, practical experiences, opportunities to enjoy valuable scholarship funds...
Vice Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong expressed her hope that alumni will have many activities to accompany generations of VNU-USSH students.
The meeting received many valuable advices from alumni for the development of the school. Expressing her pride in studying at the University of General Sciences, and later the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Ms. Khuc Thi Hoa Phuong - Director, Editor-in-Chief of Vietnam Women's Publishing House; K39 alumni of the Faculty of Literature, University of General Sciences expressed her emotion when receiving the warm welcome of the school at the alumni meeting.
Ms. Khuc Thi Hoa Phuong said that alumni are always ready to join hands with the school to promote soft skills training and specialized expertise for students, helping them to be confident and dynamic when entering the labor market. "Giving advice" for building a united and developed alumni network, Ms. Hoa Phuong shared that each faculty/institute/department needs to have diverse and widespread communication channels to connect alumni of different generations.

Mr. Dong Manh Hung - Chief Editor, Voice of Vietnam, former student and guest lecturer of the Institute of Journalism and Communication shared that his family has three generations studying at the school from the University of General Sciences to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, this is a great source of pride for the family. Mr. Hung expressed his joy when the appearance of the school is changing, becoming more beautiful every day, the school's scientific and training reputation is increasingly affirmed domestically and internationally.
Mr. Hung said that many generations of alumni of the school are holding important positions in prestigious press agencies in the country, including the Voice of Vietnam. There is a close connection between the Voice of Vietnam and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, so when he returns to the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, it is like returning to his beloved home. He and the alumni will wholeheartedly contribute their efforts and intelligence to the development of the school as well as the upcoming important anniversary.

Tran Thi Thuy Nga - Deputy General Director of Dien Hong Nursing Home, former student of K50, Faculty of Management Science, shared the good news that she will give some valuable scholarships to the school's students.
Mr. Le Cong Nang - Director of Wondertour Company, a former student of the Faculty of Information and Library Science, consulted on building a student network with useful information channels and sponsoring the alumni association with a website to connect alumni across the school.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhung - Former student of K46, Faculty of Linguistics, Deputy Director of the Department of Politics and Student Affairs, Ministry of Education and Training emphasized promoting the entrepreneurial spirit and entrepreneurial ecosystem for VNU-USSH students.
Ms. Nhu Thi Ngan - Director of Hanoi Tourism Investment Joint Stock Company, former student of K48, Faculty of Tourism, hopes that former students will participate more in sharing experiences and working skills with generations of students of VNU-USSH.
 
Alumni shared many ideas for connecting alumni with the school and with future generations of students.
The support of alumni in school activities and support for generations of students over the years is a valuable resource contributing to the overall development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
