Attending the signing ceremony were Venerable Thich Thanh Phuong, Head of the Tam Dao District Buddhist Association, Deputy Head of the Gia Lam District Buddhist Association, Hanoi, and Venerable Thich Tue Nguyen.
Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities were Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Party Secretary and Rector; representatives from the Cooperation and Development Department, the Faculty of History, and other scientists and lecturers of the University.
During the meeting, representatives and officials from both units exchanged views and proposed several areas for enhanced cooperation in the fields of collecting, translating, and publishing source materials, as well as advising ministries, central and local government agencies on policies related to the preservation and promotion of Buddhist heritage.
With the common goal of exploiting and developing the potential and strengths of the research expert team and resources to carry out tasks aimed at preserving and promoting the cultural heritage values of the locality, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Tam Dao District have agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation with several key contents:
- Conducting research and providing expert advice in the field of Buddhist cultural heritage; compiling and publishing Buddhist works on Vinh Phuc province and Tam Dao district; developing and implementing scientific research programs aimed at reviving national culture in the era of national development.
- Research, compile, and publish Buddhist works on Nam Dinh province and Xuan Truong district.
- Research, compile, and publish works related to Buddhism, Buddhist heritage, and post-Buddhist inscriptions in Vietnam...
- Providing policy advice in the fields of cultural construction and development; preservation and promotion of cultural heritage values; development of the cultural industry; and management and development of Buddhist cultural heritage.
- Training and capacity building to improve the quality of human resources; cooperation in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan and Venerable Thich Thanh Phuong, representing the leadership of the two units, signed the cooperation agreement. On behalf of the leadership of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan expressed his gratitude to the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Association of Tam Dao District for their trust in entrusting the university's scientists with professional matters. Based on the signed agreement, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities commits to prioritizing the allocation of experts and other resources to ensure the successful and effective implementation of cooperative activities.
