Prospects for cooperation in the future

The Korea Foundation (KF; Korean: 한국국제교류재단; Hanja: 韓國國際交流財團) is a non-profit public diplomacy organization established in 1991 to promote deeper understanding of Korea and strengthen friendship within the international community. The Foundation carries out various exchange projects between Korea and foreign countries to foster mutual understanding.
In 2021, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Korea Foundation for International Exchange officially signed a cooperation agreement with specific contents: such as building facilities, organizing seminars, publishing, implementing academic activities, especially focusing on human development (training experts, awarding scholarships to students).
To date, the Fund has awarded 60 scholarships to 60 VNU-USSH students (each worth 250 USD), sponsored the construction of 2 high-quality, modern classrooms for teaching and research, and supported the implementation of many scientific seminars attracting the participation of many domestic and foreign scholars.
Prof. Dr. Lai Quoc Khanh, on behalf of the Board of Directors of the University, once again expressed his sincere thanks for the valuable support and companionship, and expressed: “The 5-year cooperation agreement between VNU-USSH and KF has been successfully concluded. However, currently, the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and Korea is increasingly expanding, especially in the field of education. Therefore, the space for cooperation between the two units is very large. Besides, next year is the year to celebrate the very important event of 80 years of tradition and 30 years of establishment of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, we hope that Mr. Woo Hyoung Min personally as well as the KF Foundation will continue to pay attention to the University so that the two sides can continue to sign a cooperation agreement, raising the cooperative relationship to a new level. The Fund's companionship is not only a source of encouragement for lecturers and students but also contributes to improving the quality of training experts on Korean studies in Vietnam”.

Agreeing with the University's proposals, Mr. Woo Hyoung Min emphasized: “I fully support the above idea of Vice President Lai Quoc Khanh and hope that the two sides will continue to have good cooperation in the coming time. Next year, the Korea Foundation plans to organize a large-scale technology forum and Vietnam is the first country to choose to organize that forum. I really hope that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will be the unit to coordinate with us to organize this large-scale event. At the same time, the Foundation also commits to accompany the University's activities on the occasion of the important ceremony to celebrate the 80th anniversary of tradition in 2025”.
