At the meeting, Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan introduced the strategy of expanding international training links of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Regarding European educational institutions, the University has been implementing many joint projects with universities such as the Project to build a major in International Development Studies with University College Cork (Ireland), the Master of Communication Management program with the University of Stirling (UK). Since 2016, the University has also been a member of the Project to Enhance Innovation and Research Capacity in Vietnam (ENHANCE) funded by the Erasmus Plus Program and the European Union (EU).
Mr. Tom Corrie highly appreciated the cooperation results of the USSH with European partners. In the context of Vietnam and the EU having just signed the EVFTA, the possibilities for cooperation between the EU and universities in Vietnam have been further expanded. One of the programs that Mr. Tom Corrie proposed to the USSH is the Jean Monnet Action. This program provides funding for initiatives to promote the excellence of teaching and research in the field of European Union studies, worldwide. The program's funding areas are diverse, including the establishment of a short teaching program on EU studies (Jean Monnet Module), the development of lectures with an EU specialization, or the establishment of a specialized committee on the EU.

Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan said that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is currently training in the European Studies branch of the International Studies bachelor's program, and is moving towards establishing a master's program in European Studies. Therefore, the need for support in research and teaching in European Studies is very necessary. The University will carefully study the funding contents in the Jean Monnet Action Program to submit a project proposal to the European Commission in the future.
