This morning, September 23, 2024, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) was honored to receive Mr. Kim Gheewhan - President of the Korea Foundation (KF) and the working delegation.
At the reception, Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Principal of the school was touched by the affection that Mr. Kim Gheewhan and the Korea Foundation had for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities as well as the lecturers, scientists and students of the school.
The school hopes to continue receiving support from KF in promoting Korean studies as well as social sciences and humanities.
Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities expressed his gratitude for KF's support for the school over the years.
Expressing his confidence in the effective cooperation between the Korea Foundation and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Mr. Kim Gheewhan - Chairman of KF emphasized that, as a leading research and training center in Vietnam in the field of social sciences and humanities, VNU-USSH has made important contributions to training Korean studies in Vietnam, contributing to promoting friendly cooperation between the two countries. At VNU-USSH, students majoring in Korean studies are trained in depth not only in language but also in culture, history, economics, national character, language... of Korea. This is also the strength of the scientists and students of the school.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed opportunities for cooperation in Korean language and culture training and other fields in many countries around the world, diversifying training programs on Korean studies, in which KF plays the role of a bridge between VNU-USSH and prestigious international universities.
Representatives of the two units also agreed to promote activities to support lecturers and students majoring in Korean Studies at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in studying and doing scientific research, organizing workshops for academic and cultural exchanges, and widely implementing new forms of learning such as E-school, STEM, etc.
Mr. Kim Gheewhan - Chairman of the Korea Foundation for International Exchange discussed cooperation initiatives between the KF Foundation and VNU-USSH in the coming time.
Previously, during the working session between the Korea Foundation representative and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in August 2024, KF emphasized that it would prioritize strengthening the team of Korean studies experts in Korean culture and language training at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, continue to cooperate to improve the facilities of the lecture halls and Korean studies rooms of the University, support the publication of scientific publications and organize events on Korean culture at VNU-USSH.

With more than 30 years of cooperation between Vietnam and Korea, the Korean Government and organizations have devoted much cooperation, companionship and support in the field of education in Vietnam. With the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, the Korean Government and organizations and enterprises, especially the KF - Samsung scholarship fund, have had a comprehensive cooperative relationship in all fields, such as supporting the construction of facilities for teaching and learning of VNU-USSH teachers and students, coordinating the organization of workshops that have brought many good results for students.
Notably, KF - Samsung has awarded valuable scholarships to students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, creating opportunities for them to develop their personal abilities, serving their studies well. In 2023, KF - Samsung awarded 15 scholarships to full-time Korean students of the school, each scholarship worth 250 USD.
Representatives of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU and the Korea Foundation believe that the cooperative relationship between the two units will achieve many good results.

The Korea Foundation (KF; Korean: 한국국제교류재단; Hanja: 韓國國際交流財團) is a non-profit public diplomacy organization established in 1991 to promote deeper understanding of Korea and strengthen friendship within the international community. The Foundation carries out various exchange projects between Korea and foreign countries to foster mutual understanding.
The Foundation's cooperation and sponsorship contents include: Supporting Korean language teaching, implementing exchange programs for leaders and youth, organizing and supporting various types of performances and exhibitions introducing Korean culture and arts, supporting the publication of books related to Korea in foreign languages, and collecting Korea-related materials and multimedia content from universities, libraries and research institutes around the world, etc.
