On May 23, 2025, in a solemn, warm, and heartfelt atmosphere, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, was honored and proud to host a ceremony celebrating the 90th birthday and the "Honorary Lecture," launching the new publication "The Teacher and His Books" by Professor, People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc - one of the leading figures in Vietnamese social sciences and humanities, an exemplary teacher, a dedicated educator, and a great scholar with profound influence on the academic and cultural life of the country.
The ceremony was honored to welcome Professor, People's Teacher Ha Minh Duc along with many generations of his colleagues and students throughout his 49 years of teaching at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Throughout half a century of dedication to education and scientific research, Professor Ha Minh Duc left a vast and valuable legacy for modern Vietnamese literature and literary criticism. Not only was he a brilliant researcher, but he was also the first head of the Journalism Department at Hanoi University – the predecessor of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities today. With his passion and dedication, he trained countless generations of outstanding students – those who have continued his academic path and who have made and continue to make positive contributions to education, journalism, culture, and the arts and literature of Vietnam.
