Typhoon Yagi disrupted the opening ceremony and welcoming ceremony for new students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Like the students, the teachers were truly saddened by the warm annual event of the University, which was supposed to be held on the occasion of the full moon in August this year.
Regret, however, is just a passing feeling of everyday life. It is quickly replaced by the warmth of humanism with thoughtful greetings and timely fundraising activities, for "national love, compatriotism" as Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called for. The school has canceled the opening ceremony, combining the cost with donations: 200 million VND was sent to compatriots through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and VNU, 348 million VND went to 116 students of the school facing difficulties due to storms and floods; more than 1 billion VND from partners sponsoring students on the occasion of the new school year 2024-2025 will continue to be considered by the school and granted to students with excellent academic achievements, policy beneficiaries, and those in difficult circumstances...
We would like to sincerely thank the teachers for their understanding in flexibly adjusting the teaching plan of the unit to adapt to natural disasters! We would like to sincerely thank our partners for enthusiastically supporting the staff and students of Humanities during the difficult time at the beginning of the school year! We would like to thank the students for being in tune with the School in changing the plan to welcome new students that they have worked hard to prepare over the past weeks! We decided to cancel the opening ceremony but only postpone the welcome party for new students to a suitable time - perhaps when the autumn sun in Hanoi is more golden, the weather in the capital is more autumnal, and the atmosphere of the university lecture hall is more familiar to the new students!
On the occasion of the new school year 2024-2025, on behalf of the School's leadership, we wish all teachers, partners and students good health, happiness and success!
