Affirming academic prestige and its important role in political and ideological education.The Party cell of the Faculty of Political Science currently has 24 members, including 18 full members (15 faculty members and 3 students) and 6 probationary members (all students). During the 2022-2025 term, the Faculty of Political Science experienced changes in its leadership and management personnel. Many faculty members reached retirement age, while new recruitment was not timely. Many young faculty members are still undergoing training and professional development, leading to a certain degree of instability and disruption in personnel.
As a fundamental science discipline, the Faculty also faces difficulties and challenges in ensuring academic integrity while also considering the conditions for self-reliance; the labor market and training market are increasingly competitive and rigorously screened for quality.
Comrade Nguyen Van Chieu - Secretary of the Party Branch - presented the report evaluating the leadership work of the Party Branch in implementing the Resolution of the Party Branch Congress for the 2022-2025 term.
The report shows that the Faculty's operations are stable and developing sustainably with the establishment of a synchronized management system, especially in teaching, scientific research, and international cooperation, creating a foundation for stronger development in the future.
The high proportion of Party members among the teaching staff enables the Party branch to implement political and professional tasks in a coordinated, rapid, and effective manner.
The Faculty is the leading unit in teaching the Ho Chi Minh Thought course throughout Hanoi National University, affirming its academic prestige and important role in political and ideological education.
The faculty is highly qualified and academically reputable, creating an advantage in training, research, and academic collaboration. The extensive network of students, alumni, and partners, with many graduates holding important positions in government agencies, the press, diplomacy, and scientific research, helps strengthen connections and support practical training.
The Party cell has restructured the organizational structure towards a streamlined and efficient model, creating a foundation for sustainable development. Training is organized and managed professionally and flexibly, providing maximum support to learners. Postgraduate training has developed strongly, with innovative teaching methods, student recruitment, and international cooperation. The Faculty has developed new training programs, expanded short-term training options, and collaborated with foreign partners. Notably, experts from India, Germany, South Korea, and Russia have participated in teaching and signed agreements for faculty and student exchange.
Research activities have achieved many important accomplishments. Over 90% of lecturers have led or participated in scientific projects at the national, ministerial, Hanoi National University, and institutional levels. These works not only serve academic purposes but also make significant contributions to policy advice for the Party and the State.
The report also included a general assessment and lessons learned from the implementation of the Party Branch Congress resolution for the 2022-2025 term.
Enhancing competitiveness by playing a leading and pioneering role in the higher education system.The entire Congress reached a high level of consensus in determining the action slogan, viewpoints, directions, objectives, tasks, solutions, and work targets for the 2025-2027 term.
With the goal of building the Party Branch of the Faculty of Political Science into a developing unit with competitive capacity and adaptability to the new context; gradually becoming a strong training and scientific research unit in expertise, playing a leading and pioneering role in the higher education system, the Congress of the Party Branch of the Faculty of Political Science has determined the Action Slogan for the 2025-2027 term as follows:
"Unity - Responsibility - Effectiveness".The Party cell implements the guiding principle of promoting democracy, responsibility, solidarity, exemplary conduct, innovation, and breakthroughs in organization, personnel, training, scientific research, international cooperation, and Faculty governance, aiming for autonomy, sustainable development, and enhanced standing within the higher education system. Maintaining unity and cohesion creates conditions for the comprehensive development of staff, lecturers, and students, contributing to the strong development of the Faculty and the University. Development is oriented towards sustainability, with a focus on key areas, creating breakthroughs in training, scientific research, and international cooperation. It leverages the intellect, resources, opportunities, and creativity of the staff, lecturers, students, and alumni to further affirm the position of the Faculty of Political Science.

The Congress listened to the Party Committee's self-assessment report; the summary report of opinions on the draft documents submitted to the Congress and the documents of the University Party Committee Congress for the 2025-2030 term. Delegates attending the Congress discussed and contributed many opinions to the political reports; held a secret ballot and unanimously elected the Party Committee for the 2025-2027 term; elected 9 official delegates and 2 alternate delegates to the University Party Committee Congress; and adopted the Congress Resolution. Accordingly, the Political Science Faculty Party Committee for the 2025-2027 term includes: Comrade Nguyen Van Chieu as Secretary of the Party Committee, Comrade Nguyen Duy Quynh as Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; and Comrade Tran Thi Quang Hoa as a Party Committee member.
The Party Committee of the Faculty of Political Science for the term 2025-2027 was introduced at the Congress.
The faculty leadership representatives congratulated the Party Committee and the Congress. In her congratulatory remarks on the success of the Congress, Comrade Ngo Thi Kieu Oanh - Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, President of the Trade Union, and Deputy Head of the Personnel and Organization Department - highly appreciated the proactive, timely, dedicated, and responsible spirit of the Party Committee and the Faculty leadership in promptly developing new training programs to meet the increasingly high demands of society. The Faculty has quickly adapted to the context of university autonomy, streamlined its organizational structure, and innovated its activities. The Faculty also needs to further affirm its role in guiding and leading society in basic science training and research; contributing to policy advice for ministries/departments/agencies. In addition, the Faculty needs to improve its scientific publication activities and international cooperation, apply technology to teaching, and attract high-quality human resources.
