University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

The list of science and technology tasks at the Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) has been approved by the VNU Board of Directors and included in the 2012 selection plan based on the advice and proposals of the disciplinary/interdisciplinary councils. The task names, research objectives, and expected products in this list serve as the basis for scientists to prepare their project proposals for implementation in 2012.

On November 17, 2011, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, had the honor of welcoming Mr. David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, to visit and participate in the "Multiculturalism" seminar as part of his state visit at the invitation of President Truong Tan Sang.

The list of students awarded the "Student Scientific Research" prize in 2011 is based on Decision No. 3283/QD-KHCN, dated November 8, 2011, signed by Prof. Dr. Mai Trong Nhuan, Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The scientific conference "Linguistics Training and Research in Vietnam – Theoretical and Practical Issues" was held on November 11, 2011. This was an activity within the program commemorating the 55th anniversary of the Linguistics discipline and the 15th anniversary of the Faculty of Linguistics.

On November 10th, the Faculty of Literature organized a scientific conference on the theme "Reception of Literature and Art in Vietnam during the Integration Period". The conference was one of the activities leading up to the 55th anniversary of the Faculty of Literature. Attending the conference were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Duc Nghieu - Vice Rector of the University, faculty members, and scientists from within and outside the university.

A scientific seminar on the topic "The Contribution of Socio-Political Organizations in the Process of Socio-Policy Planning" was organized by the Center for Policy Research (University of Social Sciences and Humanities) on November 3-4, 2011, at the Bao Son Hotel in Hanoi. The seminar focused on discussing and clarifying the role of socio-political organizations in the policy-making process in Vietnam.

To commemorate 38 years of its training tradition and 15 years as an independent unit of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the Faculty of Information and Library Science organized a scientific conference on October 27th with the theme "The Vietnamese Information and Library Science Industry: Innovation and International Integration". The conference was attended by 80 delegates, including scientists, experts, and managers from various information and library agencies nationwide, with a total of 50 presentations.

On the afternoon of October 18th, at the Government Guest House, the International Economic and Cultural Exchange Club of the WTO and International Affairs Research Center, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, and VIPTOUR Company under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in collaboration with the Representative Office of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in Hanoi, organized an international scientific seminar entitled "Culture - A Resource for Tourism Development".

Professor Vu Duong Ninh introduces the book "Vietnamese People and the Sea," edited by Associate Professor Nguyen Van Kim, published by The Gioi Publishing House, 2011.

The Global Conference on Social Work and Social Development will be held in Stockholm, Sweden from July 8-12, 2012. This conference aims to welcome researchers, educators, policymakers, and social service organizations in the field of social work and social development. The main purpose of the conference is to introduce and share new perspectives and knowledge, as well as share lessons learned from successes and failures in the field of social work and social development globally.

A scientific workshop on the theme "Training Social Work in a Market Economy and International Integration: Perspectives - Models - Solutions," organized by the Faculty of Sociology, was held on September 22nd. This was the third workshop within the framework of the scientific and technological cooperation project under the Protocol "Innovation in Social Work in a Market Economy and International Integration (Research on the Experience of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam)."
