The valedictorian of the Literature Department, Class of 53, this year is Tran Dang Trung with a GPA of 3.62. Trung's family includes a maternal grandfather, and both his father and mother are university lecturers. This family tradition and his love of literature motivated him to apply to the Literature Department at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. This also makes Trung feel fortunate to have the opportunity to dedicate himself fully to his studies.

With a GPA of 3.71, Ho Thu Ha (a student majoring in Clinical Psychology, Faculty of Psychology) has become the valedictorian of the QH-2008-X cohort this year.

On August 2nd, 2012, Professor Song Ja Rip, Member of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Minister of Higher Education, and President of Kim Il Sung National University, visited and worked at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. "Promoting the cultural and historical heritage of Thang Long" is one of the new volunteer activities in the 2012 summer volunteer campaign of Hanoi's youth and students. The volunteer team from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities promoting the cultural and historical heritage of Thang Long has over 80 members from the faculties of Linguistics, Tourism Studies, Oriental Studies, and International Studies, divided into 6 volunteer teams at tourist destinations in and around Hanoi, including the Temple of Literature, Ngoc Son Temple, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Co Loa historical site in Dong Anh, Soc Son Temple historical site, and the temple of Empress Y Lan in Gia Lam.

Recently, the Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities signed a decision to establish the Training Advisory and Support Team under the Center for Training Quality Assurance, abbreviated as CASA.
