University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU Hanoi

For her positive contributions to promoting French literature in Vietnam, Associate Professor Dang Thi Hanh (former lecturer at the Faculty of Literature - Hanoi University, now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Vietnam National University, Hanoi) was honored with the Order of the Academic Palms of the Republic of France. The ceremony took place on February 21, 2013 at the French Cultural Center, Hanoi.

On February 14, 2013 (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake), Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh – the Rector of the University – visited and extended New Year greetings to a number of the University's staff and lecturers in Hanoi.

On the morning of February 13, 2013, the fourth day of the Lunar New Year (Year of the Snake), the faculty, staff, and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – Vietnam National University, Hanoi, respectfully held a ceremony to offer incense at the Temple of Literature – National University. Representatives from the Board of Directors of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, also participated in the ceremony.

On the occasion of the New Year 2013 and the Year of the Snake, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a gathering of retired teachers and staff on January 29, 2013.

To improve the quality of training and connect training with societal needs, on the morning of January 26, 2013, the Faculty of Linguistics organized a meeting and exchange between students and lecturers of the Faculty with alumni and employers.

On January 24, 2012, the Holocaust commemoration – the day remembering the genocide of the Jewish people during World War II – was held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

14 weeks, 3 episodes (30 minutes each), 16 famous and established figures in the television industry, and an educational documentary series about television program production. These numbers were written by the students of the K54 Television Program Production class in Journalism and Communication.

Difficulties are inevitable in any endeavor; if you're afraid of challenges and don't dare to try, you'll never know what you're capable of. This is the philosophy held by the team producing educational documentary television programs.

On January 17, 2013, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication signed a strategic training cooperation agreement with the Vietnam Law Newspaper. This marks an important milestone in the Faculty's development and innovation of training methods, as it is the first time the Faculty of Journalism and Communication has signed a strategic training cooperation agreement with an external newspaper editorial office.

On January 14, 2012, the Policy Advisory Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held its third meeting. Professor Phan Huy Le - Chairman of the Council - and the Vice-Chairmen of the Council (Professor Vu Duong Ninh, Associate Professor Pham Xuan Hang, Associate Professor Nguyen Van Kim) presided over the meeting.

To promote physical training to strengthen and improve health, create a healthy and beneficial playground, and contribute to enhancing the cultural and spiritual life of students, the Ministry of Education and Training, Latsata Company, Let's Viet Television Channel – VTC9, the General Department of Physical Education and Sports, and the Vietnam Football Federation are jointly organizing the "Student Arts, Sports and Beauty Contest 2012" (U-League II - 2012) with 3 competition categories: Futsal, Cheerleading, and Miss U-League.

On December 23-24, 2012, the trade union of the cluster of 5 universities (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Natural Sciences, National Economics University, University of Construction and Hanoi University of Technology) organized a visit to present gifts to students and teachers from disadvantaged backgrounds who have still achieved high academic and professional results at several schools in Bac Kan province.

This morning, November 9th, 2012, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held a ceremony to celebrate the 15th World Social Work Day with the theme "Social Work for the Happiness of Every Family".
