To commemorate the Government's issuance of the Decree on Vietnam National University, Hanoi (December 10, 1993 - December 10, 2024), the Vietnam National University, Hanoi's Electronic Information Portal respectfully presents an article by Professor Vu Minh Giang, Chairman of the Science and Technology Council of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and former Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, on the major and important orientations of the Party for the development of Vietnam National University, Hanoi in the new period. As a history professor, he has offered opinions on fundamental and comprehensive reform of Vietnamese higher education with clear, specific viewpoints linked to practice and the development trends of the times.

This was the main topic discussed and agreed upon by scientists at the National Scientific Conference: "Basic Science and National Responsibility," jointly organized by the Hanoi University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Ho Chi Minh City University of Social Sciences and Humanities on December 9, 2024, in Hanoi. This is an annual scientific forum of a network comprising six higher education institutions nationwide that conduct training and research in the field of basic science.

Following the success of organizing the First and Second International Scientific Conferences on Social Sciences and Humanities, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU Hanoi, is organizing the Third International Scientific Conference with the theme "The Third International Conference on the Issues of Social Sciences and Humanities".

On December 9, 2024, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) organized a conference to study, research, and thoroughly understand some major orientations of the Party and the directives of General Secretary To Lam.

On December 6, 2024, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) held a signing ceremony for a cooperation agreement with the Foundation for Vietnamese Stature (VSF) with the common goal of working together for a generation of healthy, intelligent, resilient, and humane Vietnamese youth. At the event, the Foundation for Vietnamese Stature awarded 10 scholarships to 10 students from disadvantaged backgrounds who have strived to excel in their studies and personal development.

"The Role and Mission of National Universities in the Era of National Advancement" was the theme of the 2024 Annual Conference jointly organized by Vietnam National University Hanoi and Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City on December 7, 2024.

The High School Olympiad organized by Vietnam National University, Hanoi, has concluded with impressive achievements from the team of the High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities, affiliated with VNU-USSH. In the 2024-2025 academic year, the school's team had 110 students participating in the Literature, History, Geography, and English teams, with 49 students winning awards (1 First Prize, 8 Second Prizes, 18 Third Prizes, and 22 Consolation Prizes).

The training course on teaching Vietnamese to Vietnamese teachers abroad is an annual activity organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH), to promote the preservation of the Vietnamese language and culture worldwide.

This was good news shared by Rector Hoang Anh Tuan at the December all-school meeting of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH), held on December 2, 2024.

This morning, November 29, 2024, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH), in collaboration with the Propaganda Department of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee and the Lao Cai Provincial Political School, organized the national scientific conference "Promoting the Values ​​and Resources of Social and Humanities to Serve the Development of Lao Cai Province into a Growth Pole and Regional Connectivity Center by 2030, with a Vision to 2050".

On November 28, 2024, the leadership of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) received a delegation from the Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences led by Professor Yang Zhengquan (Director).

On November 27, 2024, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) held a workshop to announce the National Report “Policy Implementation in Vietnam”. This is the 7th publication released within the framework of the collaborative project between Hanns Seidel Foundation Vietnam, Justus-Liebig Gießen University (Germany), and VNU-USSH.

The scholarship is awarded annually to support students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) in their studies, scientific research, and international exchange.
