With her active contributions to promoting French literature in Vietnam, Associate Professor Dang Thi Hanh (former lecturer of the Faculty of Literature - Hanoi University of Science, now the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU) was honored to receive the Order of Academic Palms of the French Republic. The ceremony took place on February 21, 2013 at the French Cultural Center, Hanoi.

On February 14, 2013 (the 5th day of the Lunar New Year), Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Principal of the School - visited and wished a happy new year to a number of staff and lecturers of the School in Hanoi.

On the morning of February 13, 2013, the 4th day of the Lunar New Year, the staff, lecturers and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU respectfully held an incense offering ceremony at the Temple of Literature – Quoc Tu Giam. Also participating in the incense offering ceremony were representatives of the Board of Directors of VNU.

On the occasion of the New Year 2013 and the Year of the Snake, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities organized a meeting with generations of retired teachers and staff on January 29, 2013.

To improve the quality of training and connect training with social needs, on the morning of January 26, 2013, the Faculty of Linguistics organized a meeting between students and lecturers of the Faculty with alumni and employers.

On January 24, 2012, the Holocaust Memorial Day - the Day of Remembrance of the Holocaust against the Jews in World War II - was held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities.

14 weeks, 3 episodes of 30 minutes each, 16 famous and influential figures in the television industry, a series of scientific documentaries about television production. Those numbers were written by the students of the K54 Journalism and Communication TV Production class.

Difficulties are inevitable in anything, if you are afraid of difficulties and do not dare to try, you will not know what you can do. The production team of the scientific documentary TV series on TV show production has this in mind.

On January 17, 2013, the Faculty of Journalism and Communication signed a strategic training cooperation agreement with the Vietnam Law Newspaper. This is an important milestone in the process of building and innovating the training methods of the Faculty when for the first time the Faculty of Journalism and Communication signed a strategic training cooperation agreement with an external newspaper unit.

On January 14, 2012, the Policy Advisory Council of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities held its third meeting. Prof. Dr. Phan Huy Le - Chairman of the Council - and Vice Chairmen of the Council (Prof. People's Teacher Vu Duong Ninh, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Xuan Hang, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim) chaired the meeting.

In order to promote the physical training movement to strengthen and enhance health, create a healthy and beneficial playground, contribute to improving the cultural and spiritual life of students, the Ministry of Education and Training, Latsata Company, Let's Viet TV Channel - VTC9, General Department of Sports and Physical Training, Vietnam Football Federation jointly organized "2012 American Student Sports and Culture Competition" (U-League II - 2012) with 3 competition categories: Indoor football (Futsal), Cheerleading and Miss U-League.

On December 23-24, 2012, the trade union of 5 universities (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Natural Sciences, National Economics University, University of Construction and Hanoi University of Technology) organized a gift giving ceremony for students and teachers with difficult circumstances but still achieved high results in studying and working at some schools in Bac Kan province.

This morning, November 9, 2012, at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, the 15th World Social Work Day celebration took place with the theme "Social work for the happiness of every family".
