The Fulbright Vietnamese Student Program is a highly competitive, merit-based scholarship program that seeks to identify and nominate young Vietnamese researchers to participate in Master's degree programs at US universities. Approximately 20 fully funded scholarships are awarded each year. Since 1992, more than 600 Vietnamese students have been selected to participate in this program.
What does the Fulbright Scholarship cover? Selected applicants will receive a full scholarship covering tuition and fees, a monthly living allowance, round-trip airfare to the United States, and health insurance to pursue a Master's program beginning in the 2023-2024 academic year. Successful applicants will also receive support from the Fulbright Program during their application process to American universities.
Application requirements:Candidates must:
- Must be a Vietnamese citizen (not allowed to hold dual citizenship).
- Must have at least a bachelor's degree.
- Must have at least two years of work experience after graduation at the time of application.
- Must have a TOEFL iBT certificate with a minimum score of 79, an IELTS certificate with a minimum score of 6.5, or a PTE-Academic certificate with a minimum score of 58.
The following cases will not be considered:
- The applicant has previously received a Fulbright scholarship.
- Applicants must be currently residing or studying in the United States.
- Applicants must have received a bachelor's or master's degree from an American university within the previous 3 years.
- Vietnamese nationals working for the U.S. Department of State and their immediate dependents are not eligible for this scholarship during their employment and within one year after the termination of their employment contract.
- Applicants must have received any government scholarship for postgraduate studies abroad within the past five years or any fully funded scholarship for postgraduate studies abroad.

The registration documents include:
- Two essays (a study plan and a personal essay)
- 3 letters of recommendation
- Diplomas and transcripts (of the training programs you list in your application).
- Foreign language score report.
