Before the final competition, the 20 teams participating in this year's UITC had to go through three rounds: the preliminary round with 100 multiple-choice theoretical questions; the semi-final round with a practical exam; and the communication round showcasing skills in graphic design, video creation, and social media interaction. These teams were formed from members who share a passion for Information Technology, coming from various faculties and departments within the university. After the three rounds, the organizing committee scored the teams based on established criteria to select the 6 best teams to advance to the final round: 404, 3T, Shiny, Sky's, Vô cực, and Happy Bright Page.
The judging panel for the final round consisted of: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University), Dr. Do Van Hung (Head of the Department of Information and Library Science), and Ms. Ta Thi Bich Ngoc (Deputy Secretary of the University's Youth Union).

In the second round, the teams will draw lots to be divided into three pairs. Each team must answer three questions posed by their opponent. The questions will revolve around three topics: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with two theoretical questions and one practical question required.

In the second round, teams draw lots to determine which team will face them directly.
In the final round, each team will have 5 minutes to present on one of six topics that have been drawn by lot. The judges will score the teams' presentations based on specific criteria such as: slide design, presentation style, problem-solving, and the message conveyed, etc.
At the conclusion of the UITC 2017 IT Skills Competition, the third prize went to the Sky's team; the second prize to the 404 team; and the first prize to the Happy Bright Page team. In addition, the organizing committee also awarded supplementary prizes: Most Enthusiastic Supporters, Most Popular Team, Best Word and Excel Drafting Skills, and Best Presentation Skills.

Outperforming 19 other teams, the Bright Happy Page team excellently won first prize at UITC 2017.
