Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-USSH) were Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Tuan - Rector of the university, along with leaders of the departments/faculties/institutes under the university.
Representing the University of Natural Sciences were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngac An Bang - Vice Rector of the university, and representatives from various departments/faculties.
Representing the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation were Dr. Britta Debus - Head of Asia, Grants and Networks Department, and other members.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, highly appreciated the value and scholarship opportunities from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for the university's scientists.
Speaking at the meeting, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan stated that cooperation with international universities is a strong policy of VNU-USSH, aiming to contribute to achieving the strategic goal of ranking among the top 150 universities in Asia by 2025, among the top 100 universities in the continent by 2035, and on par with advanced universities (among the top 500) in the world. The university has implemented numerous networking programs to provide scholarship opportunities, faculty exchange programs, and scientific exchange programs between VNU-USSH and many prestigious international universities and partners.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan highly appreciated the significance of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's support activities for scientists worldwide and in Vietnam. Thousands of scientists and researchers have benefited from the Foundation's resources, connecting them into a reputable scientific research network. In the future, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, hopes that many more lecturers and scientists from the university will receive valuable scholarships from the Foundation to develop their scientific research and training careers.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan is known to be the Science Ambassador of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation for the term 2017-2020, and has been a scientific member of the Alexander von Humboldt Scholars Network since 2012.
Dr. Britta Debus, Head of Asia Region, Grants and Networks Department, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, shared information about scholarship opportunities for graduate students at VNU-USSH and VNU-HUS.
During the meeting, Dr. Britta Debus stated that the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation is an academic organization funded by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany, established on December 10, 1953, and headquartered in Bonn-Bad Godesberg. The Foundation's activities aim to promote academic cooperation between outstanding scientists and scholars from abroad and from Germany. As an intermediary for Germany's foreign cultural and educational policy, the Foundation promotes international cultural dialogue and academic exchange.
Each year, the Foundation funds scholarship programs for approximately 700 foreign postgraduate students to study in Germany for periods ranging from 6 months to 2 years. The Foundation also builds a network of more than 26,000 scientists from over 130 countries worldwide, including 49 Nobel laureates.
Dr. Britta Debus shared with faculty members of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Natural Sciences about the opportunities to apply for scholarships from the Foundation, as well as the conditions for successful application for these scholarships.
Representatives from the Foundation also stated that the Alexander von Humboldt Scholarship Foundation prioritizes research that is novel, unique, and of high scientific value, along with the ability of applicants to work independently and creatively.

The working session attracted the attention of many lecturers and scientists from two universities: the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the University of Natural Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
