Reviewing the school's activities in 2021, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan affirmed that despite many difficulties and challenges, teachers and students of all courses had to proactively adapt to the Covid-19 pandemic, and most of the school's activities had to be organized online, but the entire school still successfully completed the academic year's plan with certain notable achievements.
Regarding mass organizations and personnel management, the Party Committee of the University successfully organized the 28th Party Congress, second round; consolidated leadership personnel in departments and some units with a spirit of high unity and consensus; completed and successively issued Party and government documents such as the Regulations on the operation of the Party Committee and Party committees, the Regulations on coordination between the Party Committee and the Board of Directors, the Regulations on decentralization of management, the Regulations on internal expenditure, etc.
Training activities continued to maintain the academic year's schedule and quality. Enrollment for all programs met and exceeded targets, with undergraduate enrollment reaching 120%, Master's 99.7%, and Doctoral 125%. This result demonstrates that the university's training programs/specializations continue to maintain strong appeal to prospective students and society. Faculty and students are adapting increasingly well to online teaching, effectively leveraging the advantages of information technology to support teaching.
Regarding scientific research, the university's scientific staff continues to implement assigned state-level scientific tasks on schedule and with high quality; 78 internationally published works received awards with higher prize money than the previous year. In particular, the university has recently issued regulations on basic-level scientific research projects with amendments aimed at increasing investment per project, encouraging international publications, prioritizing staff pursuing doctoral studies, and standardizing academic titles and degrees. Revised regulations on supporting staff in international publications are being finalized and will be issued in the near future. The regulations aim to create new policy mechanisms to elevate the university's international publications to a new level, enhance the scientific capacity of its staff, and meet the requirements for university rankings and international integration. These new regulations are considered fundamental foundations for breakthroughs in the university's scientific activities in the coming period.

The conference also noted the exchange of opinions from unit leaders on the following issues: the University's policy to promote international publications needs to be consistent and compatible with the general regulations and policies of Vietnam National University, Hanoi; along with the policy of rewarding international publications, there needs to be strict regulations on sanctions for staff who fail to complete their research tasks; promoting the translation of books, textbooks, and scientific works from around the world to serve research and training; information on the University's policies, guidelines, and personnel matters needs to be more timely and transparent; and strengthening alumni connections...
After receiving feedback from various departments, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan concluded on the key tasks to be completed in the coming month. These include: the university continuing to strengthen and implement disease prevention measures, ensuring staff strictly adhere to state regulations on disease prevention, and prioritizing the completion of the third dose of the vaccine for staff in January 2022. Staff should proactively, flexibly, and adaptably handle work online to ensure efficiency. The Training Department and the Center for Training and Application of Information Technology are tasked with developing reports and plans for the use of online teaching platforms for submission to the Board of Directors; the Student Affairs and Student Support Department will implement methods to support students during the pandemic. The university will soon finalize the issuance of decisions on supporting international publications and the plan for organizing international scientific conferences for young staff and doctoral candidates.
