From March 27 to 31, 2012, the delegation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU, led by Rector Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh, visited and worked with a number of scientific agencies and organizations in Taiwan: Phu Nhan University (Taipei), Academy of Social Sciences – National Taiwan University, Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei and National Kaohsiung University (Kaohsiung City).

From March 27 to 31, 2012, the delegation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU, led by Rector Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh, visited and worked with a number of scientific agencies and organizations in Taiwan: Phu Nhan University (Taipei), Academy of Social Sciences – National Taiwan University, Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei and National Kaohsiung University (Kaohsiung City).The purpose of the working trip is to expand cooperation in the field of education with universities in Taiwan, support these schools in building Vietnamese language programs, Vietnamese language quality assessment programs and developing Vietnamese language teaching and learning for Vietnamese people living and working in Taiwan. Currently, according to statistics, there are about 85,000 Vietnamese people living in Taiwan, of which about 80% are Vietnamese brides. The number of Vietnamese people here will continue to increase in the coming time due to the strong economic development in this area, leading to an increasing demand for hiring workers for Taiwanese enterprises. The first unit that the delegation visited and worked at was Taipei Fu Jen University. This is one of the leading schools in the idea of ​​building and developing a Vietnamese language quality assessment program as well as developing a Vietnamese language teaching program from elementary school in Taiwan. The two sides agreed that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will support and assist Phu Nhan University with experience and materials for teaching and learning Vietnamese. On March 28, 2012, the delegation also visited and had a friendly talk with Mr. Bui Trong Van - Chief Representative (Ambassador) of the Vietnam Economic and Cultural Office in Taipei - in the spirit of hoping that the Office would support and assist in developing Vietnamese language programs in Taiwan in the future. Chief Representative Bui Trong Van agreed and affirmed his full support for the development of Vietnamese language programs at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Taipei.

Next, on the morning of March 29, 2012, President Nguyen Van Khanh and the delegation visited and worked at the Academy of Social Sciences of National Taiwan University, which is also one of the cradles of training high-ranking officials in Taiwan. The President welcomed the delegation and the two sides had a friendly and open working session. The two sides also agreed to establish a cooperative relationship in the fields of social sciences and especially to cooperate closely in the field of research on social issues related to Vietnam and Taiwan. (Photo: USSH) On March 30, 2012, at National Kaohsiung University, the President signed a cooperation agreement on a number of areas of mutual interest, especially cooperation in developing the Vietnamese language industry. This is a key university in Science and Technology in Taiwan in general and southern Taiwan in particular. This year, the first class of Vietnamese majors will graduate after 4 years of study at the school. Specifically, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities will coordinate to help National Kaohsiung University to develop a standard Vietnamese language curriculum, and will send high-quality lecturers to work there in September 2012 to both teach and impart experience in teaching Vietnamese to teachers of National Kaohsiung University. The working trip of the delegation of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU, led by President Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh, ended successfully. The school and the scientific agencies and organizations of Taiwan have agreed on many important cooperation contents and the parties are determined to effectively implement them in the coming time.
