The certificate awarding ceremony for the short-term Persian language course (Level A) for participants from September 2011 to March 2012 took place on April 19, 2012. Among the seven students who received certificates, six were from the Faculty of Oriental Studies and one was from the Iranian Embassy in Vietnam.The ceremony was attended by Mr. Hossein Alvandi Behineh (Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim (Vice Rector of the University), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khosravi Shakib (lecturer in charge of the course), and faculty and students from the Faculty of Oriental Studies. The short-term Persian language course is one of the contents of the cooperation program signed between the University and the Iranian Embassy in Vietnam. Prior to this, Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Khanh - Rector of the University - met and worked with Mr. Hossein Alvandi Behineh. The leaders of both sides exchanged views on future cooperation programs. The Ambassador highly appreciated the cooperation between the University and the Iranian Embassy in the past. He also expressed hope and confidence that cooperation programs between the University and the Embassy, as well as between Iranian universities, especially Tehran University - the largest university in Iran - will achieve positive results. The Ambassador affirmed that the Iranian Embassy in Vietnam will continue to support and cooperate with the School in cultural and educational development programs.

Professor Nguyen Van Khanh thanked the Iranian Embassy in Vietnam and Ambassador personally for their interest and support in promoting cooperation programs between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities and Iranian universities. The Rector expressed his hope that with the Embassy's assistance, the signed agreements between the University and Tehran University in the near future – including joint seminars, exchange of learning materials, and the organization of "Iranian Culture Week in Vietnam" and "Vietnamese Culture Week in Iran" – will be effectively implemented. He also hoped for continued Persian language courses to lay the foundation for establishing a Middle Eastern Studies program at the University. In the coming period, the Faculty of Oriental Studies will continue to recruit students and launch short-term Persian language courses at levels A and B.
