Launching Ceremony of the 2018 Summer Volunteer Campaign

With the motto of promoting the volunteer spirit of students and the proactive role of the Student Union and Student Association in implementing volunteer activities, the 2018 Summer Youth Volunteer Program is a peak period of competition for union members and students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the founding of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (December 10, 1993 - December 10, 2018).

The 2018 Volunteer Campaign is an activity aimed at cultivating political acumen and professional skills among union members and association members; thereby fostering their professional abilities, intelligence, and enthusiasm, contributing to the economic, cultural, and social development of several localities.

This is also a good opportunity for young people in the humanities to interact and exchange experiences in youth union work and student movements with young people in other localities, creating conditions for students to come into contact with real life, learning goes hand in hand with practice, contributing to building the right motivation for learning.

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan (Vice Rector of the University) shared: “Most recently, during the volunteer campaign to support the National High School Graduation Examination, the volunteer model of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Hop Thanh left a very positive impression on the people, was highly appreciated by the people of Hop Thanh, and partly promoted the image of the University to the community.”

Associate Professor Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized: "Society always needs the contributions of young people, whether big or small, and those contributions will always be appreciated."

Associate Professor Hoan Anh Tuan also instructed the team leaders to pay special attention to organizational matters in order to have a safe and effective volunteer season in 2018.

This year, the Youth Union and Student Association of the university are organizing three volunteer projects:

One model involved participating in supporting the 2018 National High School Graduation Examination, engaging in exam support activities at recruitment sites and bus stations, and ensuring traffic safety and order at these sites. The core force for this activity was the Student Volunteer Shock Team and student volunteers from the university, totaling approximately 30-40 volunteers.

Secondly, there is the local volunteer model with two main activities. Volunteer activities in Hien Luong commune (Da Bac district, Hoa Binh province) include organizing training courses on tourism skills for local people, implementing the "Summer Cultural Enlightenment" program, and building a "Humanities Bookcase"... Volunteer activities in Thai Binh province include organizing social activities, implementing gratitude programs, coordinating cultural, artistic, and sports activities in the locality, and building the youth project "Humanities Flagpole"...

Thirdly, the model involves professional volunteering to introduce the history and culture of Thang Long - Hanoi to domestic and international tourists at three historical and cultural sites: the Temple of Literature - National University, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, and the National Museum of History.
