The opening session of the seminar took place on the morning of July 11 with the participation of Associate Professor, Dr. Pham Van Linh (Head of the Steering Committee for Compiling Programs and Textbooks, Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council), Professor, Dr. Nguyen Hong Son (Vice President of VNU), Professor, Dr. Pham Quang Minh (Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities).
The seminar was attended by researchers and lecturers of political theory subjects at universities to get their opinions on building program content, textbooks and innovating the way of teaching political theory subjects in universities.
On behalf of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Minh expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of Education and Training and the Central Propaganda Department for assigning the University to host this seminar, thereby helping the University demonstrate its role and responsibility as a leading university in Social Sciences and Humanities, contributing to the fundamental and comprehensive innovation of education, including innovation in teaching political theory subjects in a modern and updated direction. This is very important in the current context because these subjects hold a leading position in terms of ideology, theory, and methodology for social sciences and humanities, and are also the basis of a common worldview and methodology in scientific research activities and the ideology of society. Therefore, the University also sent leading experts in these fields to contribute ideas for the development of new programs and textbooks for the subjects.
The discussion will be divided into specific sessions to collect comments and contributions on the programs and textbooks of the subjects: Marxist-Leninist Philosophy, Ho Chi Minh Thought, Scientific Socialism, and History of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
