
New Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hieu
The new Vice Director of Vietnam National University, Hanoi, Nguyen Hieu, was born on March 13, 1976; his hometown is Trinh Xa commune, Binh Luc district (now Phu Ly City), Ha Nam province; he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Geography in 1996, a Master's degree in Geomorphology and Paleogeography in 2002, and a PhD in Geomorphology and Paleogeography in 2008 from the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi; he was appointed Associate Professor in 2011; he is fluent in English; and he has advanced political theory qualifications.
The newly appointed Deputy Director, Nguyen Hieu, previously held important managerial positions within Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), such as: Deputy Head of the Department of Geomorphology - Geography and Marine Environment; Deputy Head of the Faculty of Geography, University of Natural Sciences; Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of VNU's administrative body; Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Party Committee's Organization Department, Head of the Personnel Organization Department of VNU; and concurrently Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities… Before being appointed as Deputy Director, Mr. Nguyen Hieu held the positions of Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Head of the Party Committee's Organization Department of VNU; Secretary of the Party Branch, Head of the Personnel Organization Department of VNU.
Currently, Vietnam National University, Hanoi has three Vice-Directors: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hoang Hai, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Bao Son, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Hieu.
