The conference was attended by members of the Standing Committee of the School Party Committee, members of the Party Committee's Executive Board, the Board of Directors, Party Committee members, Secretaries of Party branches, Heads of units, the Chairman of the Trade Union, the Chairman of the Veterans Association, the Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, and the President of the Student Association of the School.
In his opening remarks at the conference and outlining some key directions for Party work in 2025, Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University, emphasized that Party work needs to be formalized and standardized; there should be no avoidance or evasion of outstanding issues.
Party Secretary Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized the importance of holding regular meetings at the Party branches, avoiding delays in admitting new Party members and requesting official recognition of Party members; and guiding and monitoring new students who are probationary Party members.
To prepare for the Party Branch Congress to be held from February to March 2025, the Party committees of the units need to focus on directing key tasks. Preparation work must be serious and urgent, especially the drafting of congress documents and the development of personnel plans and Party committee structure. Secretary Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized that when developing personnel plans, Party branches must follow the correct procedures, promote unity and democracy; select the right people to work, and include in the Party committees personnel with competence, qualities, high sense of responsibility, and the courage to speak up and act; and assign specific and clear tasks within the Party branch. Personnel exhibiting opportunism or individualism must be resolutely eliminated, fundamentally implementing the principle that the Party Branch Secretary is the unit leader. The nomination and election process must be carried out strictly and seriously.
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan, Secretary of the Party Committee and Rector of the University, emphasized that the development of the Party Committee personnel plan requires selecting the right people to do the job.
The conference awarded the 30-year Party membership badge to Comrade Dinh Van Huong (Party cell of the Institute of Journalism and Communication Training) and Comrade Dang Quang Thai (Party cell III of the Administrative Block); and awarded certificates of merit to 04 Party cells that excellently completed their tasks in 2024, including the Party cell of the Faculty of Psychology, the Party cell of the Faculty of Sociology, the Party cell of the High School for Social Sciences and Humanities, and Party cell III of the Administrative Block.

In summary, and to thoroughly understand some key directions for Party work at the university, Comrade Bui Thanh Nam, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the University Council, and Head of the Training Department, emphasized that Party work in the coming period needs to be carried out in accordance with guiding documents. Given the unique characteristics of a university that is increasingly attracting outstanding students applying for admission, and the growing number of student Party members, Party branches need to closely monitor and guide prospective Party members.
2025 is a pivotal year, marked by significant events and important contexts for the country as well as for the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, such as university autonomy and streamlining the organizational structure. Therefore, Party branches and members should invest their intellect and dedication, clearly understanding their individual and organizational responsibilities in preparing and organizing the Congress in particular, and for the overall development of the university in the coming period.
