This is the message sent by the school leaders to all administrative staff of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities at the 2024 Administrative Work Summary Conference held on January 21, 2025.
Towards real values ​​in the operation of the machine
In the context of the whole country restructuring its administration and organization according to Resolution 18-NQ/TW on continuing to innovate and reorganize the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU has made changes in its administrative work.
In the overall operation, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has found the philosophy in the paradox and the rationality in the current context. Accordingly, the state budget has been gradually reduced over the past 3 years, according to the roadmap to January 1, 2026, the school will be 100% financially autonomous; tuition fees have not increased in the past time to contribute to ensuring social security according to the Government's policy; the basic salary of staff and lecturers has increased according to state regulations. In that context, the salary of staff and lecturers has increased by 53% in the past 2 years; the school continues to attract a team of high-quality workers and lecturers to work. Thus, in the general paradox of higher education, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has found the rationality to have strong and drastic decisions in the development in the next stage.

Currently, the administrative staff of VNU-USSH is basically stable, the team of scientists is increasingly consolidated. According to Principal Hoang Anh Tuan, administration is the department serving the school's activities, directly serving teachers and students. The role of the administrative department is very important in the general model of the school. From administrative staff to lecturers, when carrying within themselves the highest sense of responsibility to serve, serving better and better, the school will improve the quality and reputation in training and research.
The University of Social Sciences and Humanities is currently facing many new challenges. Recently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has quickly, closely and synchronously implemented the streamlining, compactness and strengthening of the apparatus in the spirit of Resolution 18. The university has reduced 34.7% of administrative units (from 49 to 32 units) and continued to reduce them to 25 units; and will continue to cut 15% of administrative staff in the coming time. Complete financial autonomy is a problem that puts a lot of pressure on the university. Therefore, Principal Hoang Anh Tuan called on all administrative staff to be neat, professional, disciplined, and more focused in activities to improve work efficiency, join hands and contribute, and focus on VNU-USSH to develop further.
The Principal hopes that the staff will share so that VNU-USSH can move towards true values:Real Change, Real Work, Real Income.
At the conference, the Principal commended and presented gifts to 07 professional, friendly, and effective specialists in the general administrative work of the school. These specialists boldly changed the way training programs were opened, were diligent and meticulous in administrative work, proactively resolved inspection and legal work, staff organization work, were creative in communication activities, proactive and thoughtful in taking care of learners; were careful in financial work... Each staff member improved from the smallest things in their profession, boldly changed, trained and self-trained professionally, and developed personal capacity, which will resonate and contribute to the overall change of the school.

Message of a cognitive, empathetic, professional, harmonious Humanity
Professor Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized that the process of streamlining and streamlining is the measure to determine whether a university can survive and develop or not. In that general context, what should all staff and lecturers of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities do?
The principal sent a message to all staff and lecturers of the school for 2025 through 4 words: Understanding; Sympathy; Service, Harmony.
That is, staff and lecturers need to have a thorough and specific understanding of the times, the context and issues surrounding the school's development. This is an urgent requirement today to move towards effective administration and enhance the school's reputation. Between units in the whole school and between individuals, there needs to be connection, empathy, and sharing of common tasks, from which empathy will bring trust, create social capital and overall resources of USSH.
In addition, the school’s services must be increasingly better, bringing the best values ​​to learners and partners, which is also bringing the best values ​​to the people of Humanities. Principal Hoang Anh Tuan emphasized: “Harmonious Humanities is the destination; sustainable development in harmony to affirm the character and character of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities. Traditional but not backward; careful but not reserved; gentle but not weak, indecisive; harmonious but not against principles…”.
“We need to join hands to build, contribute, and unite for the belief that the University of Social Sciences and Humanities is not only academic but also modern, not only famous for its academics but also rich and luxurious” - that is the spirit that the Conference summarizing administrative work has spread to all staff and experts of the school in the first days of welcoming the new year 2025.
