Professor Hoang Anh Tuan chaired the school's monthly meeting in January 2025.
The conference reviewed some of the outstanding work in December and 2024 through a video produced by the Communication and Information Technology Center and listened to representatives from the Administration and General Affairs Department highlight some key tasks in the work plan for January 2025.
At the conference, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan presented the decision and flowers to congratulate Dr. Duong Tat Thanh on assuming the position of Secretary of the Youth Union of the University for the term 2024-2027.

Associate Professor Dr. Dang Thi Thu Huong emphasized several key tasks for training in January 2025: the Training Department and related departments will review and finalize the undergraduate enrollment plan, ensuring harmony and balance between subject combinations and adaptability to changes in the high school curriculum of the Ministry of Education and Training. Meetings will be held to discuss and propose solutions, which will be implemented immediately in the second semester (academic year 2024-2025) to gradually streamline, professionalize, and standardize postgraduate training management. Units that are adjusting/opening new/merging training programs need to promptly complete the necessary documents and submit them to the training department for compilation and review by the Board of Directors before submitting them to the Vietnam National University, Hanoi for approval.

Deputy Principal Dang Thi Thu Huong noted: The High School for Gifted Students in Social Sciences and Humanities should enhance its proactiveness in developing self-assessment reports, preparing for quality accreditation, and moving towards autonomy.
Professor Lai Quoc Khanh shared: The university has issued guidelines on building strong research groups to promote the formation and development of strong research groups at the university level; at the same time, it has adjusted regulations on supporting international publications to support the development and enhancement of research capacity and international publications for lecturers. He requested that heads of units widely disseminate this information to all staff and lecturers so that they can understand and make the best use of this support policy.
Renovation and repair work is being carried out diligently and will be completed before the Lunar New Year. Phase 2 of the Wifi system has been basically completed, covering all office buildings at 336 Nguyen Trai with fast and stable access speeds.
Regarding financial matters, Ms. Kim Thi Diep Ha (Head of Planning and Finance Department) provided full information to the unit leaders about the conclusions of the State Treasury Inspectorate's report on the School's 2023 budget revenue/expenditure situation (issued on December 14, 2024). She also instructed unit heads to urge and remind settlement officers to submit payment documents and records to the Planning and Finance Department before January 19, 2025.
Dr. Pham Hoang Hung (Head of Cooperation and Development Department) provided information about the planned meeting and exchange with successful alumni on January 15, 2025; and the upcoming visit by a delegation from Peking University on January 19 to discuss cooperation in 2025. He requested that all relevant units actively prepare the content and coordinate to ensure the event is successful and effective.
At the first all-school briefing conference of 2025, Party Secretary and Principal Hoang Anh Tuan shared the outstanding results and achievements not only in 2025 but also during the 5-year period of the 2020-2025 term, emphasizing that the major tasks set for the entire term and for 2024 have been basically completed, with 30 out of 33 targets achieved or exceeded the planned goals. Organization - personnelThe organizational structure is fully consolidated with three institutions: the Party Committee, the Board of Directors, and the School Council, ensuring the school's development. The second-level units, especially the training units, are stable and developing.
Continuously developing the faculty, training and nurturing leadership and management personnel; the teaching staff is increasing in both quantity and quality, with 21% holding the rank of Professor/Associate Professor and 81% holding the rank of Doctor; the administrative staff is becoming increasingly "professional - friendly - efficient"; and attracting high-quality personnel from outside to work at the University, including 3 Associate Professors and 9 Doctors. This is a crucial foundation and resource for moving forward with many challenges, especially the pressure of the autonomous mechanism.

TrainingStrong restructuring through training programs, especially at the Master's and Doctoral levels, opening new programs, ensuring a balance between academic and applied aspects, and better adapting to and meeting the needs of the labor market. Inspection and evaluation work is becoming increasingly rigorous, objective, transparent, and innovative towards higher education training towards greater professionalism, formalization, and centralized management.

scientific researchScientific activities have increased evenly across all fields, with a focus on certain disciplines/interdisciplinary areas; the number of international and national publications has steadily increased over the years. Cooperation has expanded, and research projects have been led to provide policy advice for local development.

Financial workThe school has achieved many remarkable results despite the difficulties of the Covid-19 pandemic and the post-Covid economic recession, and continuous budget cuts. The school's revenue and expenditure have been managed according to the principles of: spending correctly and sufficiently, strictly adhering to all state regulations; and investing directly in human resources. Staff incomes have steadily increased.

Concluding the conference, Rector Hoang Anh Tuan once again affirmed that the success of the University in all aspects of its activities is due to the unity, consensus, dedication, and tireless efforts of the high-quality, highly skilled, and responsible faculty, lecturers, and scientists; the support and trust of parents and students; and the cooperation of domestic and international partners. In the fast-paced and fiercely competitive environment of higher education, and under the pressure of autonomy, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities has consistently upheld its unchanging values: academic, traditional, and specialized, while also pioneering and constantly innovating towards modernity and integration. Building upon the achievements already made, the Principal calls upon all staff and employees of the School to work together, wholeheartedly, share, and unite to excellently complete the planned tasks, achieving many breakthroughs and new accomplishments to practically celebrate the 80th anniversary of the tradition and the 30th anniversary of the establishment.
