The delegation includes leaders of VNU, members of the VNU Council, Chief of Office, heads of functional departments of VNU; leaders of member universities, affiliated universities, research institutes and units in VNU. Notably, the delegation also includes leaders of the Faculty of Literature, professors, veteran teachers who were teachers of the 8th Literature class (Hanoi National University), now the Faculty of Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, and representatives of generations of teachers and students of VNU.

The passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is an irreparable loss for the entire Party and people of Vietnam. On behalf of the cadres, scientists, lecturers, students and pupils of VNU, Director Le Quan wrote in the condolence book, expressing his deep feelings and infinite sorrow for General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong - an outstanding leader, an outstanding intellect, a great moral character who lived a simple and noble life, devoted to the country, to the Party, and to the People. Under the leadership of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and the Central Executive Committee, the Politburo, and the Secretariat, our country has made new and solid steps of development, so that "With all modesty, we can still say that: Our country has never had such a foundation, potential, position and international prestige as today".
VNU President Le Quan respectfully writes in the condolence book

During his lifetime, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong always had special affection and deep concern for the process of building and developing VNU. That priceless thing not only comes from the deep concern of the highest leader of the Party for the development of science and technology, education and training of the country but also the extremely precious sentiment of a former student of VNU.
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong - a great intellectual, an outstanding talent of the Vietnamese revolution, a thinker, a culturalist, an outstanding leader of the Party and the People, an excellent alumnus of VNU - has passed away forever. However, his passion and affection for VNU will forever be passed on, serving as a guideline for VNU's development strategies. In the hearts of every cadre, scientist, lecturer, and student of VNU, there is always the image of an erudite intellectual, full of compassion, simple in everyday life, who sacrificed himself for the great cause of the Party and the nation.
On July 26, the funeral and farewell ceremony for comrade Nguyen Phu Trong was held at Mai Dich Cemetery, Hanoi city.
