Sharing with VTV1 reporter, Dr. Dinh Thanh Hieu - Head of Han Nom Department, Faculty of Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU said: "Behind learning Han and Nom characters, students are exposed to and research the knowledge foundation, the academic foundation of the synthesis of "Literature - History - Philosophy inseparable. Han Nom students at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities are able to approach, comprehend, and interpret the universal culture of the ancients, thereby transmitting it to present life. The knowledge that students learn about Chinese and Nom characters is highly applicable in today's life. Many Chinese and Nom students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities are fluent in two foreign languages: English and Chinese. Many job opportunities open to studentsHan Nom industryat research institutes, universities, organizations, domestic and international enterprises. Student Kieu Phuong Nhung - K65 majoring in Han Nom, University of Social Sciences and Humanities shared: "Students majoring in Han Nom are trained to "love the past and be able to write", have a passion for researching traditional culture and the ability to write and use foreign languages to apply to work". Every year, the Han Nom major attracts hundreds of students to register. After graduating from this program, students are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills in approaching and processing Han Nom texts, both in terms of textual studies as well as explaining and exploiting Han Nom texts, serving the construction of an advanced Vietnamese culture with a strong national identity in the context of international integration and exchange. Currently, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU, Hanoi offers Han Nom training at all three levels: Bachelor, Master, and Doctor. In addition to scholarship policies for students in basic faculties, Han Nom students and trainees also have many opportunities to study abroad (China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, Europe - America...) with abundant scholarship resources.
