This project presents an overview of research on self-harm behavior in adolescents and the application of dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) in intervening in self-harm behavior. Intervention results show that clients experienced a reduction in the frequency and intensity of self-harming impulses, while also developing and utilizing alternative coping skills when emotions escalated. Clients also improved their ability to recognize, regulate, and express emotions, enhancing effective communication skills. Furthermore, clients developed a more positive self-perception and achieved better academic results.

11. Summary of the findings of the project:
In this project, the author presents a review of research on self-harm among adolescents and applies Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to the intervention of self-harm behaviors. The intervention results indicate that the client experienced a reduction in the frequency and intensity of self-harm urges and developed and utilized alternative coping skills when experiencing heightened emotional distress. The client also demonstrated improvements in identifying, regulating, and expressing emotions, as well as enhanced effective communication skills. In addition, the client developed more positive self-perceptions and achieved good academic performance.
