Anxiety is a psychological difficulty that can occur in adults, manifesting in cognitive, emotional, physiological, and behavioral ways in situations perceived as threatening or dangerous. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of applying cognitive-behavioral therapy to a case exhibiting anxiety. The study details the psychological intervention process, which took place over approximately 20 sessions and 5 months. The results showed that anxiety symptoms and related physiological responses changed positively, and the client gradually identified and adjusted anxiety-causing thoughts, increased their ability to cope with anxiety-inducing situations, and improved their sense of self-reliance.

The results demonstrate the effectiveness of cognitive-behavioral intervention in adult care. This provides concrete evidence contributing to the effectiveness of a cognitive-behavioral approach to addressing anxiety in adults in Vietnam.
