Summary of Thesis Results: This thesis is one of the first research works analyzing the development of tourism activities in Ha Long Bay (period (2005-2011) according to global sustainable tourism development criteria. Aimed at establishing a sustainable standard for tourism development in Ha Long. Four main results are identified in the thesis: - Assessment of sustainable tourism management in Ha Long based on: sustainable tourism strategy, evaluation of management implementation and monitoring. - Increase socio-economic benefits and minimize negative impacts on the community in Ha Long, increase employment, reduce social evils… - Increase benefits for cultural heritage, mitigate negative impacts, and make significant contributions to the restoration and protection of the Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage site. - Reduce air and water pollution at tourist destinations in Ha Long. 11.
