10. Summary of the thesis results:
This thesis researches the "Isson-Ippin Movement and its Role in the Economic and Social Development of Rural Japan from 1980 to 2000." The "Isson-Ippin Movement," also known as the "One Village, One Product" movement, was initiated and launched in Oita Prefecture, Japan, in 1979. It is one of Japan's most exemplary movements for building and developing new rural areas. The success of the Isson-Ippin Movement in Japan has contributed to opening up new avenues for many developing countries and regions around the world to learn from and apply in their rural development efforts. Therefore, the main content of this thesis is to clarify the context of its origin; its content, operating principles, and the process of expansion and development of the Isson-Ippin Movement in localities within and outside the prefecture. Based on an analysis of the Isson-Ippin movement's activities in various localities, this thesis clarifies the movement's effectiveness in the socio-economic development of rural Japan during the period 1980-2000; it also points out the causes, lessons learned from its successes, and remaining problems that need to be addressed.
11. Practical applications:
In the current trend of globalization, Vietnam is facing the need to innovate and build the country towards modernization. In particular, rural areas need to be reformed and modernized with a focus on both leveraging the strengths of local production and preserving regional cultural identity. The successful experiences of local economic development in Japan in general, and the lessons learned from the "Isson-Ippin" movement in particular, are valuable lessons for Vietnam in its national construction and development.
Through research and study of the "Isson-Ippin" movement in Oita Prefecture, along with an analysis and explanation of the causes and lessons of its success, the author hopes that this thesis will become a useful reference for policymakers in agricultural and rural development in Vietnam, as well as for localities wishing to learn about and apply the movement's development model to their local economic and social development.

10. Summary of the findings of the thesis:
The thesis' subject researches about “Isson-Ippin Movement and its role in socio-economic development in Japanese rural areas during 1980-2000”. The Movement “Isson-Ippin” or it is often known as a movement called “One Village One Product”, which was initiated and launched in Oita Prefecture, Japan in 1979. This is one of the typical movements to build and develop new rural of Japan. The success of Isson-Ippin Movement in Japan contributed to open new directions for many developing countries and regions around the world, to learn and apply into the process of rural building and development. So, the main contents of the thesis is to clarify the context of introduction, contents and principles of operation as well as the process of expanding and developing of the Isson-Ippin movement in localities in and out of the province. Based on the analysis of Isson-Ippin movement's activities in localities, the thesis also clarifies the effectiveness of the movement in the socio-economic development in Japanese rural in the period 1980-2000; and point out the causes and lessons of success as well as the existing issues that need to be solved of the movement.

Under the trend of globalization today, Vietnam is facing to requirement of innovation and building the country towards modernization. In particular, rural areas are the ones that need to be reformed and innovated under the orientation of not only promoting advantages of local production, but also to preserve the regional cultural identity. The experience of successful local economic development of Japan in general and the success from the “Isson-Ippin” movement in particular are the lesson-learned for Vietnam in the building and development of the country.
Through research and learning about “Isson-Ippin” movement in Oita Prefecture, together with the analysis and interpretation of causes and success of the movement, I hope the thesis will become useful reference for policy-makers to develop agriculture and rural areas in Vietnam, as well as local authorities want to learn and apply models of the movement into the local socio-economic development.
