From the past to the present, the topic of writing about the countryside has always occupied an important position in Vietnamese literature. In each historical period, rural reality raises contemporary issues and urgent requirements that need to be solved. Writers always find ways to approach rural reality, reflecting the lives, thoughts, and aspirations of farmers, and from there, readers recognize the writer's own concepts and views on reality and people along with the issues raised in rural life and farmers of that period. 1.2. Since the renovation, in the flow of novels in particular and literature in general, novels about the countryside have achieved new achievements. Writers have had a new historical perspective on some rural issues such as the land reform period through the novels Evil Dream by Ngo Ngoc Boi, Three Others by To Hoai, ... post-war period such as Sao doi ngoi by Chu Van, Ben khong chong by Duong Huong... In particular, some novels have mentioned contemporary rural issues in the market economy and the country entering the integration period. 1.3. Than thanh va buom buom is an excellent novel about the countryside of Vietnamese literature in the post-renovation period. The novel approaches rural reality from very new aspects: That is the problem of farmers (jobs, intellectual level, spirituality, morality...), the problem of the countryside (culture, health, family relationships...), the problem of agriculture (investment, projects...). The work especially attracts readers with its humorous and satirical tone from a way of posing very serious issues.
