10. Summary of thesis results:
Depression is now a major challenge in global society, affecting millions of people around the world. It is the result of the intersection of childhood trauma and the pressures of the current situation: work pressure, epidemics, natural disasters and unpredictable social changes (VUCA Era), it has posed new challenges in psychological care and depression treatment. The application of multidimensional psychological therapies has become important to support people facing depression, helping them recover mentally and regain strength to face challenges in life.
Psychological therapy for people with depression is quite positive and important in improving the quality of life and psychology of people with depression. Especially the CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) method and the combination with other methods, not only help reduce symptoms of depression but also focus on developing self-management skills, changing negative thinking and building positive social relationships.
The results of the study showed that: Clients with childhood traumatic experiences in the study showed signs of psychological disorders, false beliefs about themselves, and the effects of childhood trauma had many impacts on their current lives. Through the therapy process, people with depression can learn to see themselves positively, better understand the root causes of their own moods, and develop coping skills, problem solving, and restructuring their own perceptions to help clients feel happier.
The variety of psychotherapy approaches also provides the opportunity to customize treatment to each individual's unique needs and characteristics, thereby creating positive and lasting results in overcoming depression.
11. Practical application:
From the results obtained through the process of theoretical and practical research in clinical cases, the thesis has contributed to providing more evidence on the increased effectiveness of psychotherapy by combining cognitive-behavioral therapy with other therapies such as mindfulness-based therapy (MBCT); dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).in cognitive restructuring of false beliefs, correct perception of oneself, better understanding of root causes and developing coping skills, problem solving help clients feel more sustainable happiness. Especially in the context of Vietnam having experienced many wars, cross-generational childhood trauma is very large. Instead of avoiding, we need to focus on the ability to overcome adversity with clients to overcome their problems.
