10. Summary of thesis results:
The study was conducted based on Attachment Theory to study the status of peer relationships and self-esteem of adolescents. In addition, the study also investigated the relationship between peer relationships and self-esteem of adolescents. The research sample was a convenience sample of 221 secondary school students in Hai Phong city. Of which, 44.8% were male and 55.2% were female. The subjects participated in the study by answering a questionnaire including questions on demographic characteristics, with the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the Peer Relationship Scale. The research results showed that the peer relationships of adolescents were at a fairly high level. Regarding self-esteem, adolescents rated their self-worth at an average level. In addition, peer relationships were positively correlated with adolescents' self-esteem. In addition, there were differences in grade level and academic performance when adolescents rated their self-esteem. However, there were no differences in adolescents' friendship relationships by gender, grade level, and academic achievement. These results suggest some strategies for students, families, and schools to enhance adolescents' friendship relationships and self-esteem.
11. Practical application:
The research results have contributed to proving the hypothesis of Attachment Theory on the relationship between friendship and self-esteem of adolescents. The study shows a positive correlation between friendship and self-esteem of adolescents. From there, recommendations are proposed to improve the quality of friendship and self-esteem of adolescents.
