This study, based on Attachment Theory, aims to understand the current state of friendships and self-esteem among teenagers. It also investigates the relationship between friendships and self-esteem in adolescents. The sample was a convenient sample of 221 junior high school students in Hai Phong city, comprising 44.8% male and 55.2% female participants. Participants completed a questionnaire including questions about demographic characteristics, using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the Friendship Relationship Scale. The results indicate that teenagers have a relatively high level of friendships. Regarding self-esteem, teenagers rate their self-worth at an average level. Furthermore, friendships are positively correlated with self-esteem in adolescence. Additionally, there are differences in self-esteem among teenagers based on grade level and academic achievement. However, there were no differences in adolescent friendships across gender, grade level, and academic achievement. These results suggest several strategies for students, families, and schools to enhance adolescent friendships and self-esteem.

The study was conducted based on the attachment theory to investigate the frequency of friendship and self-esteem in adolescents. In addition, the study also investigated the relationship between friendships and self-esteem in adolescents. The study was a convenient sample of 221 students at a secondary school in Hai Phong City. Of which men account for 44.8%, women account for 55.2%. Participants took part in the study by answering a questionnaire about demographic characteristics, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and the Peer Relationship Scale. Research results show that adolescents' friendships are relatively high. Regarding self-esteem, the level of adolescents' self-esteem is medium. In addition, friendships are positively correlated with adolescents' self-esteem. In addition, there are differences in grades and academic performance when students evaluate self-esteem.
