6. Changes in the training process:
The study period has been extended from June 25, 2023 to December 24, 2023, according to Decision No. 1671/QD-XHNV dated May 22, 2023, of the Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
7. Thesis title: Psychological intervention for a case with anxiety symptoms
8. Specialization: Clinical Psychology Code: 8310401.02.
9. Scientific supervisor: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thu Huong, working at the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
10. Summary of the thesis results:
Through self-reported psychological assessments using the GAD scale, the client's rating decreased from 18 points (session 2) to 5 points (session 10).
Mental health aspects: The client knows how to name emotions and analyze negative automatic thoughts through evidence. The client makes an effort to share emotions, change communication patterns to be more positive, and share their own perspectives. The client has a personal development plan based on their strengths and a plan to improve weaknesses with the help of friends and family. Simultaneously, the client learns how to cope with and prevent anxiety attacks.
11. Practical applications:
Through this case study, it can be seen that the goal of reducing anxiety symptoms, especially improving sleep quality, was essentially achieved when the client applied "sleep hygiene" techniques and provided evidence to refute irrational beliefs and negative thoughts. Due to weak family connections, this is perhaps a remaining point in this thesis. During the follow-up period after the intervention, the client gradually became more proactive and made efforts to maintain positive emotions and beliefs, planning for themselves through social media posts and messaging responses.
12. Future research directions:
During the clinical proceedings, the client made efforts to improve their condition; however, they needed consistent reinforcement and encouragement from their surroundings, especially close relationships like family. Therefore, the next research direction should focus on improving and establishing closer relationships with loved ones. Students need to connect more with friends and especially the client's family.
