Summary of the results of the thesis: The thesis "The role of the State in sustainable development in Vietnam" has achieved the following three basic results: First, the thesis has generalized the basic theoretical issues on the role of the State in sustainable development. In particular, the Thesis has mentioned the concept of sustainable development in the world and in Vietnam; identified the criteria as well as the conditions to ensure sustainable development; pointed out the necessity, objectivity and the conditions to ensure the role of the State in sustainable development and briefly presented the sustainable development experience of some countries in the region. Secondly, the Thesis presents the current status of the State's role in sustainable development in the fields of economy, society and environment. In each field, the Thesis points out the achievements and limitations based on the generalization of the State's policies, and at the same time points out the challenges that the State needs to overcome to achieve the goal of sustainable development. Finally, the Thesis presents basic solutions to further enhance the role of the State in sustainable development in Vietnam.
