Summary of the thesis results: Consumer protection is a hot issue of current events, however, in Vietnam this issue seems to have not received due attention. Currently, the rights of Vietnamese consumers are increasingly seriously violated. The problem of counterfeit goods, fake goods, fake promotions, and unreasonable prices is becoming more and more common. Meanwhile, sanctions and forces to protect consumers are still lacking, not enough to change the situation and protect the practical rights of consumers. In recent years, the mass media in Vietnam have made many efforts to reflect and fight to protect the rights of consumers. For the press, consumer protection is a glorious but also bitter task and this is also a "hot" issue that many newspapers focus on and attract great attention from readers. That is one of the ways that the press performs its functions and tasks and "survives" in the hearts of the public. The Vietnamese press in general and electronic newspapers in particular, with their quick information and high interactivity, have had effective activities in the fight to protect consumers and restore fairness in society. The thesis studies theoretical issues about the functions and roles of the press as well as the current situation and role of consumer protection in the press to give readers an overview of the issue of consumer protection in the press in Vietnam. Research, survey, and analyze the role of the press in protecting consumers, fighting against counterfeit goods, fake goods... so that journalists are aware of their roles and responsibilities and readers are more aware of their own rights, thereby bringing about higher effectiveness in the fight to protect consumers in the press. 11.
